Have stayed at Fort Pontchartrain twice, and will definitely stay again. Wonderful staff from check-in, to the dining room, to valet. Nice location, river view, short walk to Campus Martius Park (Outdoor Ice Rink). The People Mover Financial District stop is just down the street - Easy to get to Greektown & Ford Field. The room was clean and quiet.

Very strong detergents used to cover up scent made it kind of unbearable. Overall good location for the price that night but hungover next morning and smells like chemicals and dirty carpet, breakfast was okay. It was all okay. Amazing view of the city. Very loud party’s going on until 3am so we didn’t sleep well. Staff very friendly. Probably would stay somewhere else next time just due to how loud it was over night, slamming doors, yelling and running up and down the hall ways.

Painfully long nights of sleeplessness
Awesome location and view over river as close to downtown. Disappointed in overall comfort of bed. Bed was way too firm and boxy and the pillows were too soft - was impossible to sleep for both of us so ended up squabbling over who got to sleep on the sofa as way more comfortable then the bed choice. In addition the noise levels during entire 3 nights were so loud - combination of the elevator all night long and loud guests in hallways Overall hotel customer service was outstanding as did get a room change but were placed right next to elevator again due to high levels of bookings. Would not recommend this hotel if light sleeper due to paper-thin walls (could hear conversations in other rooms) .

Corn nuts all over the floor, broken drawers, etc. Our room had a bed that backed up to the elevators which went all night and were extremely loud. Neither of us slept. Probably the worst stay we’ve had in Detroit, but the staff was good at check in.

We stayed at this hotel when it was the Crown 9 years ago when my mom passed away and loved it then. We can back 11/22 where we were greeted warmly from Mr. Ken. Eric the bartender in the lounge made us feel at home and enjoyed his amazing customer service along with Miss Andrea was great. There was also a waitress in the lounge who was wonderful as well but we did not catch her name. We thoroughly enjoy your hotel and as long as we can continue to afford it, Fort Pontchartrain will be our choice. Thank you Jeanine and Mark Tibbs of Oscoda, MI💙

Property and staff was great! Other than we asked for extra blankets and did not receive. Also, tried the Breakfast Buffet in the morning. Eggs were runny and very expensive for our pickings. In addition the staff was not helpful in directing us to clean tables and letting us know how everything worked. Overall we enjoy the property.
