The air conditioning unit was extremely loud and did not quiet down all night. The front desk manager just stared at my wife who was trying to enter the facility and the doors would not open. I have stayed here before and it was not like this. I know it was busy because of the marathon, but I only stay here during the marathon and have never experienced that before.

The AC wasn't working right, so we got moved to a new room with an upgrade. The breakfast was the best I have seen with even a few vegetables available and one type of cereals that was gluten-free. The view was the only downside but we loved being downtown.

Quick trip to Des Moines

Decent hotel, parking was $20 and next to the hotel. The room was good. They have tiny ice in the ice machine! Breakfast was ok, standard hotel hot breakfast. Shower was decent. Very walk able area. Lots to see and do. Many restaurants nearby. Will return again!

AC UNIT HAD A BAD BEARING OR FAN. EVERYTIME IT KICKED IN/ON IT WAS VERY LOUD AND DISTURBING.OBVIOUSLY DIDNT SLEEP WELL DUE TO THAT PROBLEM. 2. BATHROOM FIXTURES WERE LOOSE INSIDE THE SHOWER. SIMPLY CAULKING THEM WOULD HAVE BEEN SUFFICIENT BUT THEY ARE/WERE A SHARP SURFACE THAT COULD POTENTIALLY BE A PROBLEM. THOSE TWO THINGS NEED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION. TIM SCOTT 319-240-5737

Staff was amazing. Short walk to the Iowa Events/Casey's Center. Comfortable beds. Location of hotel seemed safe. Breakfast is includes and offers a huge variety of options. There was some sort of issue because of booking through the 3rd party... hotels.com reserved the wrong date. Thankfully the hotel staff were super helpful and offered us an upgraded suite for the same price!

The Good and the Bad - Honest Opinion

Positive --- Clean room. Great friendly staff. Good bed. Good location. Negative --- Bad smell in lobby and hallways, $20 per day fee for parking that was not noted on Hotels.com. Many "hot" breakfast items were cold.
