I accidentally booked the wrong location which I’m not sure how it happened since I was searching hotels in Ames. Hotels.com could not get a refund and I was charged over $220 dollars for this hotel even though I still booked at AmericInn in the correct city. Very upset.

My husband and I just stayed at this hotel while we were visiting for a wedding. We came into town a few days early and enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The staff is very friendly, accommodating, quick to provide service, and so hospitable! While we stayed here we ate breakfast every morning, we took a swim in the pool and tried the sauna, and we also used the workout equipment! The room was spacious and clean. The mattress was comfortable and the sheets were soft. The location was perfect for where the wedding was, but it was also convenient getting around to other food places and shops in the area!

Was upgraded to room that had a new mattress so that was good. Everything is very outdated, and the cleanliness was okay. Would not recommend or will not be staying again.

The hotel needs updated. The hot tub was not working and after reading other reviews, hadn't been working for months. The lobby furniture was worn out. The business center was being used as storage. The mattresses were rather old and also worn out. It was the cheapest hotel, but for the condition, not cheap enough.

My room they first gave me was a non smoking room but smelled horrible from smoke. I went and talked to front desk the kind man switched my room with no issues. My 3 year old son has severe asthma and they switched my room no questions. Thank you!

Stayed here the weekend of June 7th-9th. Checked in. Asked for # of guest said 4. Wanted to charge a different room rate due to "waffle mix" for breakfast. Told them we wont eat breakfast there. Myself, wife, 3yr old and 12yr old who stayed. Get to room, Tv stand was 3/4 broken and tv didnt work. Room had 2 hand towels 2 face towels 1 drying towel and a floor towel. Told staff bout tv. Tried to fix it still didnt work. Left to do something after a long day of baseball, called the hotel to ask what is being done about the tv, he asked were we in the room said no his reponse was if you not in the room why worry about the tv. You not there to watch it. I said we paid for the room that included a tv. We were trying to be patient as it didnt work Friday either. Sunday, woke up to shower, yup you guessed it, no hot water. All the guess were complaining. Was told that we would get some type of refund. Still havent received that. Couple good things, the pool was heated but the hot tub was broken. The bathroom in the pool area was pretty clean. Good location.

We did a one night stay. I will say the lobby area and hallways were definitely hot. Rooms air was off as well but I understand that to save money. But room was clean it seems that they are about to remodel. They had boxes and caution tape around certain areas. Pool was just right temp. The staff was extremely helpful and nice.

We got 2 rooms with hot tubs in the rooms. We had no hot water the whole stay. Not in the tubs, the sink, or the shower. My side of the bed the lamp didn't work and neither did the outlets. In the other room 2 outlets didn't work and no hot water. Complete waste of my money and time.
