A Jewel In North Texas
A jewel in North Texas, the Dwelling Place is a charming and well-appointed home within walking distance of historic McKinney's quaint restaurants and shops and within minutes of many other attractions in North Texas. Our hosts anticipated every need and still checked in to see if we were satisfied or if there was anything more we needed. The home is immaculate and comfortable, situated on a quiet side street. There are patios front and rear on a beautiful yard where I can imagine enjoying a coffee or reading a good book (little chilly during our stay). We were in town to celebrate an early holiday with our grandchildren, shop for Christmas and enjoy some down time. The Dwelling Place is more than a place to overnight. It was an integral part of our experience and a wonderful place to start our holiday. Thanks Kathy and Sayres for the warm hospitality and enjoyable stay! We will be back!

Spectacular Home
My stay at this charming historic VRBO property in McKinney, TX was absolutely incredible! From the moment I walked in, I could feel the warmth and character of the home. The blend of original architectural details with modern amenities created the perfect balance of comfort and nostalgia. The home was immaculately clean and well-maintained, with thoughtful touches throughout that made it feel like a true retreat. The location was ideal—just a short walk to the quaint downtown McKinney area with its fantastic shops, restaurants, and scenic parks. We enjoyed relaxing on the lovely porch and taking in the beautiful neighborhood, which felt both peaceful and welcoming. The hosts were incredibly responsive and clearly care about providing a top-notch experience for their guests. Quick Visit to an Awesome Texas town
Three day exploratory visit to McKinney Texas. Quaint home, excellent curb appeal. Interior achieved the difficult balance of classy, welcoming, and functional. Kitchen well equipped and organized. Amazing place with incredible hosts
A beautifully decorated home, quaint, with beautiful touches of love everywhere! The fire pit in the back is great for evenings. It was perfect! The hosts were extremely fast to respond and they were amazing! I would definitely stay here again if I come to this area. I wish all hosts were this amazing! Truly wonderful!

Great house!
The house was clean and comfortable. Quite neighborhood and plenty to do close. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Only negative was the air conditioning struggled to keep up during the heat of the day and the bedrooms would get warm.

We stayed the weekend here and it was so nice! Great central location to downtown and shopping, neighborhood felt extremely safe! Property was very clean and well maintained, inside was so cute - felt very high end, outside has beautiful yards, nice porch for sitting and great back patio & fire pit area. Great house!
Girls weekend! This house is within walking distance (.7 miles) from downtown McKinney. We went to the Wine Walk, had dinner and drinks at The Yard (fantastic place with tons of outside sitting areas) and ended at the Speak Easy on the square. The house is beautifully decorated and well appointed. Nice neighborhood and the owner is extremely responsive. Would definitely recommend!!!

Delightful home!!
We live in McKinney and our bathroom flooded. I needed a comfortable place to stay for a bit. The Dwelling is a beautiful old home that has been restored in a most lovely way. Everything is clean and fresh- truly delightful. Kathy has been so hospitable and helpful to me. This is a GEM in McKinney. I HIGHLY recommend it to everyone!!!

The Dwelling Place is a great little house within walking distance of downtown McKinney. The house was perfect for us. It had all the amenities we would want and was incredibly clean and well decorated. The hosts were very attentive and responsive, making sure we had eveything we needed.
