We were not satisfied with our stay at La Quinta. We booked from September 14th to September 17th but ended up checking out on the 15th. My parents stayed in one room, while my sister, my 1-year-old nephew, and I stayed in another room. Shortly after checking in, we noticed roaches near the fridge area. My nephew's milk, bottles, snacks, and water were in the fridge, and when we checked again, we found a small roach inside the fridge. We also saw another roach on the nightstand, which is dangerously close to the bed. This posed a safety concern, as roaches could easily get into the bed.
At 11 p.m., we went to the front desk to report the issue and requested a refund for the remainder of our stay. We ultimately left and moved to an Airbnb. We were unable to sleep that night, worried about roaches getting into our belongings and potentially bringing pests home. Additionally, we didn't feel comfortable letting my nephew play on the carpet, so he was unable to move around freely.
While I understand that we were unable to be accommodated, I am requesting a full refund for room the one room with the roach problem.This situation was far from ideal or safe, and we were forced to find alternative accommodations, which was inconvenient. Furthermore, my parents' room did not have a functioning phone, which is a safety issue in case of emergencies.
