Set in the heart of the Limousin Périgord National Park La Broulie is a 350 year old farmhouse with some of the barns around the courtyard dating back to the 15th century. It is positioned in the middle of it's own 75 acres of farmland, woods and lake, and is wonderfully isolated with far reaching views over the surrounding countryside.
Inside: 5 x double bedrooms, attic room sleeps 6 (ideal for kids), 4 x bathrooms (2 en-suite), 3 x reception rooms (wood burners & sky boxes), dining room (seats 12/14), big kitchen/diner (large hob, 2 x ovens, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer), 2 x utility rooms (washing machine, tumble dryer, 2nd fridge, 2nd freezer), study room, telephone and internet, pool table.
Outside: heated swimming pool (12 x 5m, open 1st June to 1st October), electric hard safety cover, sun loungers and sofas, daybed, shower, 2 x barbecues, outside covered dining area can sit 14 comfortably with 16 at a squeeze, lighting and power for ipods etc ensure you can wine and dine into the small hours. Lake stocked with carp, table tennis, some old bikes but best to bring your own as there is excellent cycling in the area, both on and off road.
Location: situated in the Perigord/Limousin national park approx 30 mins south west of Limoges and 45 mins north of Perigeaux. There is lots to do with swimming, fishing, canoeing and sailing in the numerous lakes and rivers, mountain biking, horse riding, golf, excellent outdoor go-karting course nearby, tennis court in village, lots of typical French chateaux's to explore and if you're into pottery take a tour around the world famous porcelain factories in Limoges.
