Unique home on the waters edge with no stairs to lake & pontoon rental option

Get away from the rush of life and stay a couple nights at Villa Lago on Smith Lake. We have year round deep water with easy access to dock/water with no stairs. We are located between Trident Marina and Smith Lake Dam in Cullman County.

Be surrounded by beautiful sunrises, nighttime fires and great fishing right off the dock. We have 3 lots that form a private little cove with a large waterfall. So, no immediate neighbors to the left or right. We offer our guests 2300 square feet of living space with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, open spacious areas including a kitchen, dining area and living room.
Enjoy a large veranda with comfortable seating, an x-large green egg for grilling your favorite steak or baking a pizza, and an outdoor fireplace for chilly nights. You can sit outside and listen to the relaxing waterfall, chill with a book or play some good music to get you in the lake mood. Oh and did I mention no stairs to the lake!

The home is well equipped with your basic needs including lake needs such as towels, water floats, fishing poles, cooler, corn hole. There is a very large parking area that can easily accommodate multiple vehicles and vehicle with a boat trailer. It would make an ideal rental for fishing tournaments. We may also make a boat slip available if requested prior to arrival.

OWNERS LIVE ON PREMISES. The homes are separated by an elevator that remains locked while we have guests. There are separate entrances and parking. You will have the entire lower level home and lower level grounds and dock to yourself. A pontoon boat with a fabulous sound system is available for rent to Villa Lago guests only (reserve ahead). Why is it convenient to have owners on premises? Because we can answer all your questions, immediately address any issues that may come up, rent the boat, and you can borrow a cup of sugar or any last minute item you forgot to bring. Our interaction is completely at your preference.

Our intention is to share this beautiful lake with guests who will love it as much as we do. Life is about creating memories and we hope you will create some great ones here at Villa Lago.

NOTE: There are high walls and high rock ledges without rails-see photos. Outdoor security cameras monitor entrances.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned villa, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

The BEST place!!
This is a lovely place, pictures are accurate, owners are wonderful, very clean and just all around a perfect place to stay. We so enjoyed sitting outside on the veranda and the seating on the rock outcropping looking over the lake. We rented the boat for one day and had a great time motoring around the lake. Can't beat it!!

Beautiful family stay on the lake
We had a wonderful weekend get away here. The property has private parking and access. It is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, great views, large windows, high ceilings, all the kitchen supplies, towels, swimming noodles, everything you need, etc. And they kindly even left a bag of ice in the freezer, toiletries, and a welcome cheese and crackers and bottle of wine! The water is a little cove off the main center of the lake so out if boat traffic but it’s deep and moving so perfect for swimming off the dock. Beautiful rock outcroppings and ledges with seating provided gave a lot of different choices of places to enjoy our morning cup of coffee. The hosts couldn’t have been nicer, even made their pontoon boat available which let us explore the lake and our girls loved it. This was our first visit to Lewis Smith Lake and heads up it is a long drive from the grocery store and only one restaurant, Trident Marina Grille. But that place was hopping, stopped for gas and saw it had a big lunch crowd and that evening we went for dinner and there was a band and all ages dancing with good casual food indoor/outdoor seating, bar . We thoroughly enjoyed the property and appreciate the hospitality of the hosts! Thank you!

Little slice of heaven!
The property was absolutely beautiful inside and out. Inside was clean, beautiful decor and comfy furniture. All three bedrooms were large and so comfortable. There were games for our family to play inside and out. The kitchen was very well set up for all our cooking needs and our hosts left us a nice welcome gift that we really enjoyed! So many personal touches. The view was spectacular of the lake and surrounding area. We sat on the porch and had dinner each night and listened to the beautiful sound of the running, natural waterfall that is right beside the house running down to the lake. Our hosts were both so hospitable and now are friends for life. Jason was so helpful to my husband with our boat. Best place we have ever stayed on the lake!!

2024 Family Vacation
I have been coming to Lewis Smith lake for 10 years, and by far has been the best place we have ever stayed!!! With the owners being available, made our stay even better. We had absolutely no issues and from renting the boat, to the location on the lake was absolutely amazing. I would recommend to anyone and this will be our go to spot from now on.

Amazing Lake Stay!
We had an amazing time at Alex and Jason’s beautiful lake home. It was one of the most relaxing vacations we have been on. The lake is beautiful and accessible for kayaks, boats, jet skis, swimming and fishing. The house was wonderful, clean, and very updated. Alex and Jason think of every little thing to make your stay as comfortable and accommodating as they can. They are quick to answer any questions and they go above and beyond to make your stay so wonderful. We walked into a yummy gift basket left for us along with some fireworks since we were staying the week of the 4th. Best vacation ever! Highly recommend this lakehouse!

A great place with awesome hosts
I cannot say enough about this choice for a lake get-a-way. First off, the hosts are just the nicest people and communication was great from weeks out to during the trip. We walked in to find a bottle of wine (the host asked white or red earlier in the week) with a spread of cheese and crackers. Plus, I had inquired about ice as they are pretty far from a store, and our freezer was loaded with enough ice for mixed and frozen drinks. Also, prior to arriving we were informed that the house is a bit from a full grocery store, plus the area is a dry county, so just plan accordingly. We did forget italian dressing for salad, but as they were headed to the store, they asked if we needed anything and the brought us back the dressing needed. It was a big benefit having them on locations. The house itself is just great with a good kitchen, plenty of the items you'll need, and comfortable beds. We also did rent their pontoon boat for the day which was so worth it! The best thing about their location is that since you are in a little cove, swimming off the dock was extremely enjoyable as there were less waves and no boats to worry about. Some of the other rentals are right in the main areas and I would worry about floating in the water like we did here. If you are looking for a house on Smith Lake, don't hesitate on this one. We are definitely going back!

Beautiful property and grounds
Such a beautiful place. The hosts do everything to make it very nice for their guests…lots of extra touches that don’t happen elsewhere (fresh-baked bread, welcome basket, nice toiletries, etc). The yard is gorgeous. Immaculately kept and so many pleasant seating areas near fires. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and jumping rock. The living areas are all bright, new and fresh. We cook a lot, and I was so appreciative that the kitchen had good Calphalon pans and nice knives. Wonderful place. Great parking, especially for a boat. Would stay again
