Could it be Covid?
There was very little enthusiasm or welcome when we arrived after 7 hours on the road. The stand alone air conditioning made it impossible to sleep.
The space itself is ideal and as we had been there before, we were happy to return, however... Maybe Covid is hard on the owner and made him a bit grumpy.
Comfortable beds, good bathroom and charming in it's historical character, except for the living room furnishings, but coffee creamer was not provided and TV only played old VHS tapes and DVDs which were very limited. No local cable TV provided.
Beautiful property...we were told it is the oldest original inn in Ontario, and I'm sure that's true. If you enjoy old architecture, you have to stay here. Breakfast was top notch, as if the proprietor, Robert, was a top notch chef in a past life.
interesting old home with great information from the owner.
Very restful.

The over all experience was extremely pleasant, I enjoyed the music room, breakfast was plentiful and our inter action with other guests that evening was congenial and interesting. We did not experience the gardens because grounds were still recovering from the winter !
Beautiful historic B & B in Cornwall. Built in 1814 and recently renovated and redecorated including wonderful antique furniture. Great welcoming host with extensive knowledge of the inn's history and interesting personal background. Hamish the Scottie dog also friendly and adds to the charm. Very nice fenced yard and gardens and delicious breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyable stay and will be back.
The Owner/Inn Keeper met us on arrival, this is s very old historic building and the owner will provide you all the information you wish to here. Many antiques and very unique furnishing from a 300 year old grandfather clock to a one of a kind grande piano (0ver 160 years old) An amazing place that will keep you asking questions. The proud owner Robert has every reason to be proud of this historic landmark and all the stories to go with it
