The Heartland Inn felt a bit more upscale than I had expected. It was clean, well-lit, comfortable, and looked well maintained. We needed only a place to light while traveling from Massachusetts to Minnesota, and it fit the bill well. We checked in after 10PM after driving 800 miles, and everything was ready and seamless, which, if you have ever driven 800 miles in a day, is priceless.

Excellent place to stay for a night to relax and have some time with the boyfriend but last night I had gotten a room with the tv on the way other side of the room so that was the only inconvenience other than that I didn’t have any issues.

We had a very nice room, modern furnishings and comfy bed. Also a nice variety of breakfast item, very modern coffee machine! Nice surprise that they serve a dinner option during the week!!

Loved our overnight stay on our way through Iowa. Got there and was warmly greeted by LaLa at the front desk, and they were serving a nice light dinner. It comfortable and clean and very welcoming. Will definitely be back!

The staff was very helpful. My husband has some physical limitations and the staff gave us great accomodations. There was not only free breakfast but they also offered free dinner. Very nice facility for the price.

The front desk staff person was very pleasant and tried to help us with a special request. I had not paid attention to the size of the pullout couch bed when i booked, and it turned out to be a full size mattress rather than queen. We asked for a cot or rollaway, only to be told all they had was an air mattress. We tried it, it leaked down to the floor in 5 minutes. We received their only other one. It leaked to empty in 20 min. Iut of options, my grandson slept on the cushions removed from the couch when we set up the pullout bed. Other than that. The motel was clean, quiet, and a decent value. The included breakfast was devoid of any fresh or fruit choices, and low on bread choices, but the eggs were good.

Our room smelled like moth balls and there were sticky spots on the carpet. The TV was situated on a wall far from the bed and only turned 20 degrees. Not sure why the console was pulled out from the wall. The food I put in the fridge for our son froze despite adjusting the temperature. Outside temp was comfortable and we would have liked to have had our windows open, but our room was situated above an area where people smoked and smelled of marijuana. The shower would go to scald when the person above flushed the toilet. Our son was in the hospital and this place was recommended by them and perhaps they should reconsider. Did not live up to the wonderful and excellent ratings left by other reviewers. Perhaps they had updated rooms. The staff were friendly and accommodating and it’s pretty close to the hospital if you have to go back and forth.
