The hotel was nice enough. We had a suite, with a small living room area and a bedroom.
The bad:
1.The bedroom smelled like a boys locker room, which was overwhelming every time we walked into it. I imagine it's the dingy carpet, but even the pillows smelled a bit like B.O. after stitting in that space.
2. The swimming pool was beautiful, but even at the start of September, when you'd have thought the water would still be hot from the summer, it was freezing. Like worried-about-my-kid-getting-sick kind of freezing. I never understand when hotels don't regulate their pool temps.
3. And no spa. Downer.
4. Parking is $22/night. This is not a busy space in The Woodlands, so parking should most definitely be plentiful and free.
The good:
1. We did really like walking around the lake and all of the close restaurants and a Starbucks. That was lovely.
2. The property was pet friendly, although quite pricey at $150 non-refundable pet fee. Ridiculous. I guess this one could easily fit into the bad category, as well.
3. We enjoyed the breakfast, which was free, cooked to order, and served until 11 on the weekends.
4. Proximity to the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion was super close, but not so close that it made getting back to the hotel a bad experience. That was a huge plus!
Would we stay here again? Maybe. But I'd probably look to see if there was anything else available first.
