Sat in lobby for over 30 minutes to check in while desk young lady was on the phone with a customer. She was very polite to the caller but I just wondered why she couldn't have put them on hold. Also, even though I made the reservation over two months prior and requested 1st floor (later confirmed on their computer that I did indeed request that), I was asked what floor do I want. I said 1st and she had to look and told me the only room available was a pet room. I ok'd that but it was all the way to the end of the hall (2nd to the end). After unloading our luggage and some food we found the refrigerator did not work (also had no controls for cold or whatever). We went back to the desk and she said, "oh yea, we've had problems with that refrigerator." Huh? She moved us across the hall from 103 to 102, from carpeted to hard floor. Had to return our 103 key cards to get the 102 keys then move all our stuff again, All this on a 90 degree day and after a 230 mile drive from Mt. Vernon, Illinois. By the way, I'm 84 and my wife is 83. On the plus side, your folks were nice and breakfast was the best of the Quality Inns and the Comfort Inn we stayed in previously on this trip.
don't want to complain too much but still wonder why I get a room 12 miles from the lobby when I book so early.
