Beautiful view - on Lake Champlain
Had the amenities we were looking for. Plenty of seating for several guests. A suggestion- add a few end tables between a few chairs. Also, have a few throws available for chilly nights. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Very quiet and peaceful

This vintage property is set right on Mallett's Bay and it is a beautiful location. We enjoyed it morning noon and night. The property is creatively decorated, clean and well appointed. We hosted a small family reunion with a BBQ in the backyard and enjoyed the whole day. Very well laid out and perfect for the occasion.

The property was excellent, of course...on the water, facing west, very quiet, immaculate neighborhood. Bit of an old, musty smell - like an old camp. Did not bother us but it was there. Very easy directions and instructions for use of the property. Uber was easy picking up and dropping off. Towels and linens were very clean. Thank you for a great stay.

Beautiful location, well-kept lake cabin, rustic
My wife and I loved being here. It was a fantastic location and we enjoyed sunsets and people, boat, and birdwatching. The beds were super comfortable and it was very restful to sleep with the windows open and hear the birds chirping. The description is a little over the top with the 'sprawling back yard' and 'two-level patio' and 'sandy beach' - the yard and outdoor space are fine, if a little worse for wear. The property's beach is rocks, which again is fine, and you can walk down the beach towards the sandy areas if you walk in front of the neighboring house. This is not really a complaint about the house or property at all, just a comment on the glowing description which is, like all marketing, a little bit BS-ey. We elected not to use the washer and dryer because they are outside, through a padlocked shed, in a cellar under the house. That's not exactly clear in the description either, and I can see why. :-) My only serious complaint is that apparently the water is non-potable and we were not informed, so we drank the water all week long. I don't expect there to be any serious issues from that, but it seems like a pretty important thing to be notified about and we were not. Attempting to ask about it at the end of our trip through the VRBO app resulted in 4 or 5 different Vacasa support people saying they were sorry and hoping we had a good time anyway, but I didn't feel like we got a straight answer from the owner in a timely fashion.

Location, location, location!
Rustic house (cabin?) with a nice log cabin like feel on the inside. It's an older home (1950) but served its purpose for our stay. Location is awesome, right on the lake at the end of a dead end road. Very quiet. Water is non-potable which wasn't in the listing we saw but wasn't a big deal. Just be aware and bring bottled water.

Needs some TLC
The lake and location are great, super quiet street. The house has more furniture now than pictured above, and as noted in older reviews the mattresses are all pretty new. That said, the bathroom/shower had lots of black mold and the kitchen sink had layers of mold/mildew in it. Also the windows leaked when it rained (it was pretty windy as well but there was water coming in through the bottom of the sill). Just needs some basic maintenance and better cleaning!

Lovely beach but hot water runs out fast
This was a nice location in a peaceful neighborhood, beautiful sunset views from the backyard/beach. The shower does run cold after 9-10 minutes, and we noticed some concerning stains on linens and seat cushions. Also this isn't really anyone's fault but the wind blowing bushes, etc. against the walls did keep us up some at night. A solid 4 out of 5!

A few upgrades and this place would be great
It’s really simple. These people could throw a few thousand into this place and it would be 100x better. To start and probably the biggest thing is the mattresses. They are 1000 years old and unbelievably uncomfortable. Like really really bad. You’re better off sleeping on the floor. The trash in the house is kept in a closet. That closet isn’t fully enclosed and the top of it opens up to a bedroom. So, the first bedroom on the left will smell like trash. The living room furniture includes a wicker couch , and green chair with a leg rest and a broken recliner. The wicker couch is designed to be outdoors and was probably purchased around the same time the mattresses were. There is carpeting in the bathroom that’s looked like it’s been there since the house was built. I couldn’t believe it. Even around the toilet. Gross. The place was squeaky clean, that and the view out the back were the only positives to this place. New furniture, new comfortable mattresses and tile in the bathroom and this place would be great.

Great location/vibe, room to improve
Pros: -Incredible location/vista; breathtaking sunsets -Proximity to hikes, lake, Burlington, Colchester, Champlain Causeway -Frictionless check-in & check-out -Cabin aesthetic is very relaxing, but with solid modern amenities Cons: -Pricey (a 12% booking fee? why?) -Mediocre upkeep & corporate management (moldy shower curtain in bathroom, some cobwebs, felt nickel-and-dimed with 1 roll of paper towels for a 5-day stay + full kitchen); if you look at the reviews, a lot of times they will respond with "you had access to our 24/7 concierge service if you have an issue" but I'm on vacation and I don't want to have to call a hotline to get things that would be supplied by most rental properties without having to ask -No advance warning that two adjoining properties had ongoing construction projects (one of which had clearly been going for a long time) - not a dealbreaker, but it was loud and started early in the morning Overall, this property is really lovely, and we had an enjoyable time, but it didn't quite live up to the price tag. I would return if some improvements were made to both process & property.

Terrible experience with house and property managers
While the lake was beautiful the house is not maintained well and neither are the grounds. We arrived and there were ants in the kitchen, living room, and bathroom. Wasps all throughout the house. The grass was not cut and there was (what we assume) goose poop all over the lawn so it was impossible for our 1 year old to walk through the grass. After dealing with it for 2 nights we decided to leave our vacation 2 nights early because the conditions were disgusting, multiple wasps in the bedrooms and ants crawling on us as we tried to sit in the living room or stand in the kitchen. We called the property managers and we were told it’s common to have ants and wasps this time and year and they could send someone to spray. When we said we weren’t comfortable with that they said they would have a manager call me - a month later and I still haven’t gotten a call from them manager. I’ve called them 5 or 6 times and am always told I will receive a call back but never do. We way overpaid for this vacation (we booked during covid so we knew that was the case). I waited over a month to write this review to give the property managers time to make the situation right. After my many non-returned phone calls we finally received and very minimal refund.

Great location, needs some TLC
We have been renters and owners. Totally enjoyed our stay but have a couple of suggestions. We never did figure out the thermostat instructions, it was on the whole time and we couldn't adjust the temperature. Fortunately it was cool so we just opened the windows. Also, could have appreciated some additional instructions for the TV/Cable. But figured it out. The grill needed cleaning which we did. Also installed a cover plate in the main bedroom. It would be a good idea to have a pan by the door for people to wash sand off their feet. We have a similar septic system and you shouldn't let plants grow in the evaporator, those are the lungs of your septic. The entry way combination never worked properly but we didn't leave the house so it wasn't a big deal. We really enjoyed our stay but I would imagine that people more picky made have had an issue.

Very cozy cabin.
The cabin was very clean and cozy. We had a great time except for a windstorm making us loose power, and the cabin got very cold. But we were able to contact the property manager in the middle of the night and they sent someone over to fix the heat ASAP. Great customer service! Will definitely come back next winter!!!!

Lakeside beauty
Perfect position to relax and be by the waters edge. Quaint cabin. Lack of hairdryer, coffee maker or electric jug/kettle is why I’ve downgraded my score. Also a workman attended in the evening prior to our check out delivering equipment for a furnace repair at 8.30am the next day.... even though our official check out was not until 11am. Not happy about that given we paid the correct and full amount of rental advertised.
