Very good Staff amazing.

Amazing staff could not get any better in frienliness,helpfilness and efficiency. Loved the roof top deck. Location is central at first it feels a bit grity8 but across street is a great b akery, a few feet away is a Farmacia, abit further ,very good self service laundry an 1 block away is the post office . Also 1/2 block great restsurant and enterance to the fun area with plazas shops and restsurant....you can walk up hill to University. Be sure to see the Fado performance. Breakfast is a small buffet with obligatory scrambled eggs,bacon and rolls. Good hot chocolate out of machine that does coffee also. The best part is the STAFF!. Rooms clean and functional, free parking was appreciated.

Unexpected Great stay

When I saw it I got scared because it looked sketchy from the outside, however we felt secure once we entered. We were greeted by very nice front desk employees. They even offered an upgrade which we didn’t get because we stayed for only one night. Room was comfortable and enough space for two people with two medium size luggage, a carry on plus travel bags. Breakfast was very good too and the hotel is very well located. Walking distance to main attractions.

The hotel was very clean. It is a few feet away from the free shuttle bus to and from the train station , Coimbra-1. We were pleasantly surprised to see the hotel right there when we exited the bus. We took the train to arrive and to depart and the shuttle makes it very easy, it has frequent trips. We enjoyed walking around, the hotel has an excellent location. Solar do Bacalhau is an excellent restaurant, right at the corner, it was one of our best dinners in Portugal. Fangas Maior is also highly recommended. We enjoyed a Fado show one evening and it was different from the Fado show/dinner we had in Lisbon. The university is wonderful, the tour needs to be booked ahead of time. The library is just unbelievable.

So disappointed in our stay at Hotel Oslo. We booked our room and paid extra specifically based on the photos of the room listed on Expedia, which included a decent-sized balcony where two people could sit and enjoy a bottle of wine while looking out at the city. As we were traveling with our 4 year old through Portugal, my husband had been very much looking forward to a 'date night' out on the balcony after she went to sleep. To our surprise, the room we received offered nothing of the sort. Instead it was about a 2 foot wide balcony, with barely enough room for one person to sit and no table. Had I known this would be the reality, we would have booked elsewhere. When we spoke to the front desk, we were only told 'sorry.' I feel like we were lied to - given a completely different room than what we paid for. No other offers or concessions were offered. It ruined our night. To offer a fair review, otherwise, the hotel is fine. it's a bit dated but the breakfast on offer was lovely, with lots of selection, and the free parking included was really appreciated.

The hotel staff were very helpful and allowed early check in. There was a nice substantial buffet breakfast . The location was good and free nearby parking was a plus. There is a laundromat nearby. There is a nice view from the terrace. You can hear street noise .

Don’t go

Parking to even get there was horrendous, as there were no spots in the front of the hotel as described. I eventually was directed to a parking garage in the next block and had to park 4 floors down. Very tight quarters. The mattress was hard and uncomfortable, and our room had an indescribable odor. I would never stay here again.

Hotel Oslo offers clean rooms with comfortable beds and a great breakfast served on the top floor, featuring an amazing view of the city. However, the hotel’s maintenance could use some improvement — the shower was leaking, and the elevator floor could use a touch-up. The average nightly rate also seems about 20–30% higher than similar hotels in the area. Overall, it was a pleasant stay with an excellent location and breakfast, but a bit of maintenance and pricing adjustment would make it even better.

The hotel needs a re furbishment, hotel room was dated in decor but the shower was abysmal, if you happened to be on the large size there would be no way you could have used it. Breakfast was reasonable but the clearing of tables if you didn’t get in early was hit or miss for a clean table.

This was the most expensive room that I booked in Portugal and it was the biggest disappointment. Place is outdated. The shower was dilapidated. The towels felt like hard crusty napkins. Extremely overpriced for what you received. The only nice part about it was the rooftop patio.
