Mountain Valley Paradise
We thoroughly enjoyed our wonderful stay at this Coledale, CO cabin! It is beautifully situated in a gorgeous mountain valley. We enjoyed waking up to snow on the mountains, beautiful sunrises, and coffee on the deck to take it all in. We also enjoyed watching and visiting with the horses, and the evenings gave us brilliant star-filled skies! The roads to get there and to visit the area follow the beautiful Arkansas river. We did need to plan ahead for food and gas, though, as there are not many amenities close by or open, especially in the “off-season” when we visited. Our host was very helpful, and checked in on his frequently. The cabin is very well appointed and well stocked, which we greatly appreciated! We definitely recommend this Mountain Valley Paradise to anyone looking for a wonderful stay!

Perfect for our stay
We had a great stay. Excellent location for fishing Arkansas River and we did day trips to Monarch and San Dunes. Cabin is nicely located among some ranches/farms with good privacy and away from roads. Saw deer and elk from the cabin most days. Excellent place for a low-key reunion with friends. Great communication from owner and property management company.

Perfect place to get away for a last weekend of summer vacation. Cabin is absolutely perfect! Plenty of room to relax or hike and explore. Close trip to the Royal Gorge bridge to include white water rafting. Salida is west, has great shops and the small owned restaurants are great! Highly recommend and looking to book again for ski season at Monarch Mountain.

Can't wait to go back!
We LOVED this cabin and everything about it! It was clean and comfortable and had EVERYTHING! We have stayed in places that were lacking but this cabin has crock pots and mixers and cooking spray and Netflix and wifi and comfortable beds and comfortable couches and tons of blankets and pillows--we did not have to leave for the entire 4 days. We are a family of 7, all 15 years old +, and there was plenty of room. The property manager checked on us and provided us with everything we needed to know to make check in and out the easiest ever. Thank you!!!!!

Spectacular Views in the Arkansas Valley
Though the property is somewhat remote (in between Salida and Canon City), we knew this before we drove from Denver and loved the location, especially the mountain views, the deep-field mind-blowing, awe-inspiring stars (never seen anything like it), the surrounding fields with horses and cows, the proximity to the Arkansas River where our dogs loved swimming. The house is equipped with EVERYTHING and then some and, though it does not have a dishwasher, we didn't mind at all. It has big great room with a ceramic, electric stove that kept us warm and individual room heaters that took away the chill of the May nights. There was plenty of room for our group of five to cook, play games, hangout and be together. Sitting on the front deck around the fire pit at night was lovely. I have NEVER seen so many bright stars in one sky. We were all mesmerized. Added bonus....we opened the big grill to cook some salmon the first night and there was a momma Bluebird and five eggs. She and her mate had built a magnificent nest in the grill so we let them be. The next morning the eggs were hatched and momma was bringing the babies worms. The male bluebird was really really bright blue and both were clear that we were not supposed to mess with their kiddos. We said hello to them each morning and a final goodbye today as we left. Mother Nature at its best! Nice linens on the beds, thick towels in the bathrooms, an endless supply of toiletries and comfy, quiet sleeping with only crickets and the wind. Kitchen was well-equipped with a huge amount of condiments and pantry goods available to us. It has a Keurig for coffee and not a traditional drip pot which I would have preferred, but the coffee was fine. Suggest getting a basic drip pot for the next renters so they can use their own coffee. **Note: Internet password is on the router in the little living room at the side entry. The one given to us by the management company did not work but we found the right one easily enough. We took the train through the Royal Gorge and went to Salida another day for dinner and bluegrass music at the hatch-shell by the river. There is endless fun to be had in this valley and we go often. For anyone who wants to be away from the mainstream, in a comfortable house and settled under the most beautiful starry sky at night.......this is the palce.
