It was unfortunate that we visited on one of the hottest days of the year as our room didn't have air conditioning and the window was limited to opening only a few inches at the bottom, and would not open at the top, so no round draught could be created. The fan provided did little to help and we had an uncomfortably hot night. Other than that, the hotel was good and the staff very helpful. The continental breakfast buffet was also good, although the gluten-free options were limited (though the gluten-free bread was very good).

Comfortable hotel with good food.
Nice view though in the attic so avoid third floor as bumped head a few times! very hot in summer though found fan in wardrobe. Overall good service and facilities. Good food too.

Really lovely
Beautiful hotel and our room was exceptionally lovely and large and beautiful clean. All staff were smiley, welcoming, polite and helpful. The restaurant was nearly full on a Tuesday night which is a great sign. We booked ahead for chateaubriand which was spectacular. The breakfast buffet wasn’t filled enough to cope with the number of guests. But the staff did their best to help.

Lovely hotel, food was good . I think service in te restaurant needs to be better. A bit of training would make the restaurant and the overall experience an exceptional one. The shower was a bit of a challenge, kept getting hot and cold which was very annoying

Perfect location
Excellent location, within a short stroll of the river, ruins, bars, shops and eateries. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We managed to get a free hotel parking space very easily. The only downsides were, our room was next to the lift, so it was noisy as people returned to the hotel in the early hours, plus the pillows were incredibly soft and offered no support at all. That said, we would definitely stay there again!

A really lovely hotel. Very nicely decorated especially in the lounge area and dining room plus bar. Centrally located for Christchurch. Staff happy and friendly and very professional.
