Nice hotel in downtown Chiclayo
Friendly staff, an easy (if bustling with traffic!) walk to the airport. Nice access to the downtown plaza with cathedral and city hall (about a 10 minute walk). Pretty good continental breakfast came with the room. A very good deal for what I paid. Room very comfortable and it was kept very clean. I would recommend this especially at the Expedia bargain rate.
The hotel was beautiful and comfortable. However, we reserved a room that was advertised as being two double beds with the ability to request a rollaway for one of our kids. We are a family of five. When we arrived they told us they did not have rooms with two double beds, only one double bed (matrimonial) or two single beds. They were very accommodating and gave us a room with a king bed for the same price we had paid on hotels.com but did charge us extra to bring in a single bed. So, we made it work but paid more than planned. Also, they charged us 20 soles extra for two of our breakfasts because the room only included 3 breakfasts.

Good, but not perfect
The location is quite central and the service is good. We had a few minor issues with our room which were resolved quickly. Don't expect to have a quite stay. This is not the hotel's fault but just a fact of life with the traffic in Chiclayo. The hotel is a little run down in places and could use some simple repairs but it is clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast is adequate but there isn't a lot of variety. Overall satisfied with our stay.

Ok but not great
This hotel is well situated near the center of the city, but is extremely noisy and the location is not very nice or save. They also forgot to charge us 50 soles for the taxes and called us two days later making a problema about it, when I had been their mistake all along.
It is a clean, good location, close to main square, malls and airport. Nice people in staff, and the best is its restaurant. Delicious traditional plates for lunch and dinner. My room was at the 6th floor not to the street. Very very nice rest, quiet and clean. Transportation to the airport is for free and very confortable vehicle. I recommend this hotel strongly.
Had no water pressure in room the first day. Staff tried to solve problem by switching rooms, which was an inconvenience. Housekeeping then indicated they would get the issue looked at and by the end of the afternoon, plumber had repaired the problem (new fixtures, dirty lines). Room was clean, good size. AC worked very well. Breakfast smorg was good. Hotel is a bit out of the way.
Initial problem with water pressure/clogged faucets was dealt with. Breakfast buffet was not offered one morning because "there are not enough guests". Odd that they were not concerned about the guests that were there. Small details in a hotel that was otherwise superb.
Our stay in this hotel was disappointing because when we arrived the room was not ready and we were very tired. After more that 15 minutes of waiting time the staff gave us a room that was very dirty. It was completely disappointing. This hotel does not have the value in money that we have paid. We paid too much for an inferior hotel like this. I definitely will not go back to this hotel again.
The hotel is known locally as Los Portales: it would be helpful if hotels.com referred to it that way as well. Once confusion was resolved, the hotel was very enjoyable and conveniently located. Good breakfast.
I arrived at the hotel after river rafting on the Amazon for two weeks, so I looked like a mess and some of my bags were dirty and sandy. But the staff was friendly and helpful...treating me very well. There are mostly Peruvians staying here and the hotel has a good, positive energy. The room was spacious and clean. I later met the manager in a random encounter and learned he had studied at PSU in Portland, Oregon for several years, living only a few blocks from my home in Portland! I highly recommend this hotel!

Chiclayo: Ugh. Stay in Pimentel instead
Chiclayo is a disorganized chaotic noisy mess. The hotel is an exception. It is clean, comfortable, and the service is quite good. Don't expect this hotel, however, to live up to other LP properties. It is far more basic. That said, the important things work: it is safe, the staff is attentive and courteous, the rooms are clean, the internet (while not blazing) works well (Skype works), and the showers have ample hot water. This is likely the best in Chiclayo. The big downside is that it is in Chiclayo. If you are a tourist here, you may likely be visiting the ruins and sights. As you may have discovered, these are all a drive out of the City. If you are staying in Chiclayo for business, this is a great option. If you are going to Pimentel and the sites, maybe stay in Pimentel.
