The central location made it easy for us to get to all the major sites as well as the football game we were in town for. The staff were friendly & more than willing to help us find a place to eat or a cab to the airport.

The glass top table was not connected to the base, and it was easy to knock off if leaned on. My roommate nearly got hurt when the whole thing collapsed, and everything went down, including the lamp and coffee maker ..........The shower leaked easily onto the floor, and we had to take special care with that and mop up after showers to avoid slipping....... There was a deadbolt lock on the bathroom door inside and the hinges were on the inside, and the door opened into the bathroom, so if someone fell inside and was hurt, it would be very difficult to get them out......the doors had been painted many times, so we had to take care to pull the roomdoor shut tight when we left..........What bothered me the most was that I came home with bed bug bites.......I reported these things to the management and pointed out that the situation with the bathroom door and the table could be legal liability issues if someone is hurt.......... In all fairness, it CAN take up to two weeks for bed bug bites to appear after a bite, so either I have bugs in my home, OR there are bugs in room 691 South.....I have had bed bug bites after 3 stays at places that seemed clean and well maintained, in the UK, Mexico, and now the US. I don't travel a whole lot, probably 3 - 4 times a year at most. Just a heads up. I have read up on bed bugs since arriving at home, and I will take care in future visits to do things/not do things in order to try to protect myself from getting them in my clothes or luggage.

DISSAPOINTED WITH THE ROOM! Maintenance working at 10 pm on a night. Back door in lobby have broken windows and the glass all over the place. Need to improve the elevators. I waited more than 10 minutes an elevator because only was working.

A grand old hotel in not so grand shape. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a mishmash of materials that didn’t fit. The lighting was still fluorescent bulbs. But the staff were very helpful.

Super tall ceilings in room at this historic property. Lobby is fabulous. 5 minute walk to Metra or redline or blue line. But, lots of homeless hanging around.

The A/C in the room did not blow cold. There was no hot water from the sink. And for the shower it took almost ten minutes one night for it to get a comfortable temperature. The shower was not the cleanest.

Perfectly located downtown across from grant park and by the Loop. Had a feel of a classic Chicago hotel but with modern upgrades. Has a great hotel bar/restaurant. Great stay!
