Holiday weekend in the Shenandoah region
This chalet was a 'just right' choice for lodging for myself, my husband, and our Golden Retriever. We very much appreciated being able to disconnect and relax. Our pup's favorite part was the private swim holes on the property. We spent some time each evening relaxing and cooling down there.

Beautiful Chalet, Great Location
Riversong is a chalet in the traditional 'A frame' style, in a beautiful part of rural Virginia. Truly 'Off the beaten track', it is a great place to relax and unwind. The beds are very comfortable. Windows with fly screens allow you to fall asleep to the sounds of the river, rainfall and insects. On a clear night, the view of the sky is incredible. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to sky watch this time round. Pack your good binoculars or your telescope (if you have one and have the room)!

Relaxing weekend to unplug
Had a great time, cabin was super clean and comfortable. No bugs or weird smells. AC worked great in summer heat. River water level was low but still had a great time playing in the swim holes. It was really nice to not have cell service for a few days. Lost power briefly and property manager Sheryl was quick to check if we needed anything. Only complaint would be there is no longer trail access to Poccasin trail nearby as neighbors have recently posted their property. We were still able to hike into Shenandoah National Park. Overall enjoyed ourselves and will be back.

Third year & Loving it
Perfect place for our 5 year old grandson to get outdoors, play in the stream, catch small fish on his Spiderman pole, and help build a fire every evening. Cannot think of a better thing to do with kids. This place has the feel of a cabin, but the conveniences you need. It is also nearby great attractions in case of rain!

great weekend retreat!
our family really enjoyed this little house! Great location, very tranquil and peaceful setting. Loved the firepit! The house was well stocked with everything we needed. Absolutely loved Bald Head Brewery! Beautiful location, great brews and ciders and good food and live music. Only 20 minutes from the house. Bring water shoes if you want to swim in the creek as it is slippery as you would expect. All in all a great weekend!

Cute Cabin
So there were some positives and negatives… - First off the Negatives: • Was not as nearly as private as advertised with the constant travel of neighbors up and down the road • No leash laws in the area (roaming dogs makes it a little less pet friendly for our leashed friends) • House needs some love in regard to updating and upkeep (bedroom doors are extremely hard to open and close) • Random phone calls on the landline (we unplugged the phones after the first night) • No AC upstairs which got extremely hot for our daughter • Not sure where former guests were catching trout but out of the 20-30 fish we caught none of them were trout or legal size for whatever they were • Water had a sulfur-like smell in the downstairs bathroom sink and shower (we opted not to take another shower or drink it after the second day and we were there for 4 days) • No clear explanation as to where to put accumulated trash or dog waste And the Positives: • Extremely easy to find using google maps • No internet or cell service for a few days was a blessing • Dogs were allowed • Air-conditioned (well downstairs anyway)…cools off fast!!! • Beautiful firepit area in the back • Fishing in the stream • Listening to the stream as you fall to sleep • Dish Network and TV in the living room • Close proximity to Shenandoah National Park and Luray Caverns • Also close to a bunch of wineries if that is something you are interested in • Yoder’s Country Market is a MUST!!! • Sheetz wasn’t too far to get our Galliker’s Iced Tea fix 😊 • Drive through beautiful country/farmland • Typical wildlife of squirrels and deer (sadly no bear spotting ☹) • Awesome butterfly garden that was pretty cool. Stop and get groceries on your way in!! Overall a cute cabin and a nice break from the everyday stress of being constantly plugged in.

If you’re looking to unplug this is your place! No cell service meant we actually spent time together! The creek was beautiful. We used the fire pit and roasted hotdogs and marshmallows! Our only complaint was that the master bed was SOOOO hard! I actually slept in the couch.

Get Away from Everything
Easily found -- entered address into car GPS and went right to the cabin even though it was off the beaten path. We only left the property once to get some groceries but otherwise stayed put and just enjoyed nature, the sound of the river and being 'away from it all'. Would recommend bringing charcoal for the grill -- we didn't see any around but we also didn't need it, just a thought for future visitors. All around great getaway -- I am considering retiring to the Mountains and this only made that consideration stronger. :) :)

Everything was great - the cabin is close to Shenandoah NP and Pocosin Hollow trailhead is just a short walk away. It was nice to sit out on the deck. The cabins in the area are spread out, so it’s peaceful without being isolated. The cabin was very clean.

This place is across the road from fast water and deep in the woods. The river sounds great, as do the birds and the nights a silent and really dark. Best of all there is no internet. Use it to escape from civilization, you won't be disappointed.

Cabin Escape
The area surrounding the property is quiet, peaceful and serene. The house could certainly use updating and a deep cleaning, but it is charming and has a grandmom’s home feel to it. The fire pit is the highlight of the property. It’s huge and we spent every evening enjoying it. There is a river/stream across the road and is accessed by a rock trail. If you want to get in To take a dip, bring water shoes. Overall it was a nice, comfortable experience that was a great getaway during COVID.
