What an amazing hotel!
Set in a stunning old building, the inside is very modern and ultra clean.
Our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Perfect, huge, comfortable bed, ample wardrobe space and double doors onto a small balcony which overlooked the beach. The bathroom was well appointed with a separate shower cubicle and spa bath.
Staff are friendly and very helpful. We didn't eat in the hotel on an evening, but did thoroughly enjoy a very varied breakfast buffet. Everything from a wide variety of fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juices; cereals; toasts and breads and continental cooked meats and European hot selection. Even an egg station, where you could choose how you would like your egg cooked.
Outside, the pool is huge and again, spotlessly clean. Complete with a spa pool and a waterfall, it is set in lush green gardens. We enjoyed perfect weather, but if it should turn, there is a wonderful indoor pool, complete with massage and spa and a well equipped gym.
The town itself has many excellent food and drink venues. The beach is less than a five minute walk away, as is the main shopping street and the vibrant canal area, which by day, sees colourful fishing boats sail out, replaced at night by up market restaurants and bars and, two nights a week, a delightful craft market.
If you would like to explore a little further afield, bicycles are available from the hotel.
