Enjoyed a pleasant stay at Costabella on Lapu Lapu Island.The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet. and the AC worked well. The hotel restaurant never served me anything I didn't like. The staff were friendly and welcoming. My biggest disappoint was most definitely the beach. The beach itself is fine, but it's not a good spot for swimming in the ocean. I think I walked out at least 50 yards and the water was not even above my kneecaps. And you had to be mindful of the rocks here and there. I was hoping for something comparable to a Kamala Beach (Phuket) experience,,but there was no contest. The traffic is also quite ghastly - even on little Lapu Lapu. Actually it was much worse in Lapu Lapu. Multiple Filipinos told the tale of a stop light on a very busy street which has been out of service for five years. It took over an hour to drive three blocks. Misery. And finally, while Lapu Lapu is a relatively short distance from Cebu City and the International Airport, everything that I really enjoyed about Cebu was located at three to four hours to the south. That includes swimming with the whale sharks in Oslob, the nearby Tumalog and Kawasan Waterfalls, the white sandy beach of Moalboal,and the little town adjacent to it. If I had it do over again, I would stay in Moalboal or go to Boracay.

Staff are nice and the location is good. We use GLAB taxi to savemore and maribako grill within 90-100 peso one way. The resort is isolated from main street but there is a certain distance from traffic noise. So, location issue a few visitors left their comments is not a big issue by using GLAB app. Beach access is nice, rescue people watch guests carefully, although the private beach is not deep enough, their service is enough nice. I would like to say one thing. Please decrease price of beer. It is as twice price as major restaurants in city. Please promote various SanMiguel beers. Variation is not enough. I think the price need to be studied. This is not a fault of this hotel. We booked a room with breakfast, we double checked this with my partner before booking confirmation on expedia. But the hotel said our booking doesn’t include breakfast. we were asked to buy breakfast. So, please do not believe screen of expedia, please check your voucher after the booking. If breakfast is not indicated in your voucher, please cancel this and booking this again for making sure. I have never seen this kind of thing. Even if voucher does not indicate breakfast, breakfast request is delivered to hotels from my past experience. This is not the fault of the resort, we understand. we will try to ask this to expedia but we think they will ignore to refund the money for the unexpected expense of breakfast.

Food for breakfast at 1000 was very limited and had to constantly wait for more, coffee the worst in the Philippines! Staff all sitting around on phones and talking to each other, had to say sorry I’m distributing you! Too bad!

Staff were amazing and very helpful, food is good . Butt unfortunately the room is in very bad condition due to the humidity in the rooms that pillows all of it have molds luckily , bathroom tub are unsafely high which you need a foot stool to get up which they don’t have for our senior family member are unable to use it , it’s fall hazard. Bathroom door was stuck few times with my senior family member inside which freak me out . Disappointing 2 night stay . We will not come back .

Our second stay, last time was 2016. Property has been improved but at a cost, a big increase in food and beverage prices. Sadly our rooms were not as good as previous and the breakfast was not as good. Far too expensive for a buffet breakfast at 900 pesos per person even children who only eat a piece of toast pay 900. With no alternative due to being locked in a compound then I would suggest you take the billboard packages at booking to save some money.

The staff at costabella is probably the best most caring and polite group of resort workers I have ever met in all my travels. The resort is top notch also. Clean and alot of free cabanas pn the beach near palm trees and the ocean. You cant go wrong by staying there
