"An older property but amenities were amazing and, most importantly, even though they were fully booked when we went, there were no lines for anything. Lounger at the pool, on the beach, bars, food, waterslides… we never waited once at any time of day. People were amazing and friendly and there were always staff to ensure you were taken care of. "This was my second visit to the Bel Jou, and it was wonderful. The staff were the best of all the hotels I've ever stayed at. The general manager Dean walks around every day to stop and talk to the guests, he truly prides himself on the service his team provides and genguingly wants to make sure his whole team make the guests as comfortable as possible. I couldn't fault one thing, to the cleanliness, maintenance, entertainment and overal service with a big St Lucian smile. The shuttle service to Castries and the beach is a massive plus and its free, what more can you ask for. All the staff from maintenance, bar restaurant, reception, cleaning staff, were exceptional. But I have to mention my girl Princess what a woman, Devon, Sam, reception ladies and we missed Andrea. So many more to mention and Dean the general manager whom is the only hotel manager to walk around greeting and talking to his guests every single day. I've never experienced that in all the hotels I've stayed around the world and I've travelled far. So on that note, thank you, Dean and all the staff at the Bel Jou. You made our stay memorable, and we will definitely be back. "

"Colin and the team at Villa Beach cottages are absolutely brilliant. They gave us a warm welcome, lots of helpful information, organised tours and were on hand for any issues. Villa beach is an immaculately kept small development of quaint cottages. Most are set up as with two rooms, one downstairs and one up. I'd recommend an upstairs room for the higher ceilings, privacy and view but both are great. You get a very quiet beach to wander along only shared with sandals resort. The sea is a little murky compared to other places on the island but that means there are no rows of loungers and other tourists. Relax here, enjoy the view and take advantage of the great staff."

"My family (2 adults, 3 teen boys) stayed here for half of our time in St. Lucia. We chose it because we wanted to rent a house from which we could explore the northern part of the island. Long story short, we had a nice time here. The villa was clean and very close to the beach. The check in/check out process was easy. All-in-all, it was as advertised. As somebody else mentioned, the layout is a little funky. The 3 bedrooms and baths are in one "wing" of the house and the kitchen and living room are in a different wing with their own lock. We rented a car and did our own driving. I will note that the rush hour traffic in the Castries and between the Castries and Rodney Bay can be really bad. I tried to drive into town one morning to pick up some coffees and breakfast to bring back to the villa and that turned into a lengthy ordeal. Parking is also difficult in the center of the Castries. We visited a lot of beaches on the island and found Vigie Beach to be quite charming and one of our favorites. It's much less touristy than others. You can get a rum punch for 10ECD instead of 20USD. All in all, we'd stay here again."
