beautiful setting
Grounds were lovely and impeccably maintained. Secluded location, surrounded by fields that seem to go on forever. Gorgeous and peaceful. Property owner easy to work with. Appreciated her attentiveness to providing directions augmenting GPS, which sometimes cannot locate the property, given its isolated, rural location. Dwelling interior definitely has seen better days. Furniture was shabby and worn (couch with broken springs, etc), and appears not to have been updated in decades. Disappointing, especially for the price paid.

A quiet getaway
This property is tucked away in a quiet, secluded spot. There is plenty of room, though the bedrooms and only bathroom in the main part of the house are pretty small. The best feature is the addition which is a large open room with three beds and a window air conditioner that opened up to the back yard with a nice patio, a grill and a burn pit. Also, it is nice that pets are allowed. Had the biting insects not been so bad we would have made use of the back yard. Also, The owner was very nice and easy to deal with. Perhaps we didn't arrive at the best time of year, because the ticks and mosquitoes made it unbearable to even be outside (not the owner's fault). The furniture was rather worn out, and the door knob fell off one of the bedroom doors. There were dirty dishes in the cupboard left behind by a previous tenant (perhaps no dishwasher was a struggle for someone). Having just the one bathroom made it difficult for my family but we knew that going in. There were plenty of towels, blankets and other necessities, as well as books and games. Wifi there worked well, and there was a small television in the livingroom. Overall, if you're looking for a camping type experience without the camping, this might be a good option.

Although not a traditional home was one of the better homes I have rented. Beautiful landscapes, friendly owner and so many new things to experience. I recommend this rental highly!

Wonderful farm and home
This home is in an ideal setting on a family farm. The home has plenty of sleeping spots and it has an interesting history. There are many bird species in the area - if you’re a birder - you’ll love it! Wished that we could have stayed longer!

Three siblings traveled from tx to nd for a wedding. We usually cram 3-4 of us into a hotel room. When we were going to make the reservations we found this listing. It was a no brainer because we could each have our own room for the same price. It was nice to have our own kitchen also. Ann was very nice and grounds were beautiful! Little inconvient to go outside to use cell phone but not there fault or anything can do about it. Just increased the peace and quiet! Would do it again and told many family members at the wedding about it.

Peace in Our Time
I live in the Black Hills and was escaping all the city-slicker tourists who are trashing the homes of the animals who live in the forest, as well as my home, with their noise, litter and utter disrespect for the planet. Longspur is a homey, fully furnished and comfortable place to stay. It is centrally located for driving to several destinations in eastern No Dak. My hostess greeted me, gave me an orientation, and then left me to my plans. The grounds and residences are immaculately, beautifully and charmingly kept. The hostess is a very interesting person in herself and her interests, offering brief chats, yet leaving me to my privacy. I would also like to get to know her better. And I am so thankful to find a place that welcomes cats, finding few cat-sitters available where I live.

June Birding Trip to North Dakota
We wanted to do a birding trip to North Dakota and I am so glad we found Pipestem Creek because it was the perfect location to base our birding outings from. Ann was exceptionally helpful at finding us a birding guide. The 2 outings we had with our birding guide were outstanding and the guide helped us find a number of the targeted species we were looking for. Ann also suggested some nearby places where we could look for birds that were great places to go. Longspur was very comfortable, clean and quiet. It was nice to have a full kitchen with everything we needed to make our meals. Their property contains lots of lovely gardens and it was nice to have a bouquet of flowers on the kitchen table when we arrived. Ann is a wonderful hostess and I definitely recommend this property – as someone else mentioned, it is truly a hidden gem. I am hoping we can get back in the not-too-distant future for another stay and to explore more birding locations near Ann’s property.

Cozy, comfortable, and welcoming!
We had a delightful time at Pipestem Creek. We rented both houses for a family reunion. Both homes were comfortable and very clean. We enjoyed the rural location. And we especially enjoyed seeing a moose each day as he roamed the nearby fields! We highly recommend Ann’s properties. We realized after we arrived that we had been there before when she sold edible bird feeders and houses! Collette the caretaker was delightful and helpful. Thank you so much!

Quiet, remote get-away
Quiet! We stayed here to escape 4th of July fireworks, because they terrify our dog. We were 10 miles out of Carrington, so we didn't hear any fireworks and all was calm. From here, you can enjoy day trips to the International Peace Garden, Devil's Lake, Fargo, Jamestown, and Grand Forks. The property contains lovely gardens and trails. Since we are elderly, our hostess graciously provided us the use of a golf cart so we could enjoy the manicured landscape. Ann is accommodating and never intrusive. She even called us because a thunderstorm was approaching to tell us where we could garage our car in the event of hail. The kitchen has more pots, pans, and skillets than we have at home. Everything we needed was available. A word to the wise. This is not a completely Verizon-friendly location, so be sure to set your phone to enable wi-fi calling and you might not even notice.

Pretty yard
Host was very hospitable, loaned us a golf cart to tour the grounds. There are a lot of flowers, even a bouquet on the table when we came in. Our only problem was finding the location when we used GPS. It was a very quiet place in which to stay.

Duck Hunt
We found the lodging clean, warm, comfortable, and friendly. Ann had it well set up for the lodging and also cleaning our game. The extra shower in the home was very helpful though an extra toilet and vanity to go with that shower would be great. This was a nice upgrade for us from staying in a motel where space was always cramped. We would recommend Ann's place to others.
