Micky, the Duty Manager, took excellent care of us and provided great customer service to compensate us for non-availability of a previously booked room on the check-in day. The room was not available because of a water leak on the 9th floor so all rooms on that floor were closed.

The Taj was AMAZING not because of the beautiful building and cleanliness, but because of the beautiful souls that work there. From the valet to the front desk the staff welcomed us and gave us great recommendations. Lulu and Zim, you made our trip to cape town unforgettable! Overall a disappointment from a well regarded brand. Checkin was rushed and impersonal, also they don’t preauthorise credit card, but rather charge for incidentals in advance, at check in. Most unimpressively, there is no evening turndown service (which is shocking for a luxury brand!). Valet parking returned my car covered in bird poop (when I complained they did have this washed). Oddly there was a drought of towels, which were taken away and not replaced. Overall just disappointing for a brand with such prestige.

Good option downtown
Taj is a good option for those who wants to stay in downtown. The rooms are spacious and the very well furnished. The employees are very polite and friendly. I highly recommend.
