Nestled between the Atlantic Ocean and Chesapeake Bay in Cape Charles Virginia - your adventure awaits. The tiny homes here are a refuge from the day to day hustle and bustle and a sanctuary for the weary mind. We are renovating the 10 tiny homes here with the hope of sharing them with others who seek a unique experience and all of the nuances and perks they -and the area- offer.

Each home is equipped with all that you’ll need to make your stay a comfortable and convenient one. Design is well-thought out and attention to detail lends to maximizing the utility of the homes and a spacious feel. Decor is neutral and nostalgic with a touch of whimsy tied together with a theme of relaxation and harmony. Don’t worry - the preservation of the character and charm when restoring these homes was paramount in the plans and a stay here will have guests reminiscing about yesteryear. An adorable front porch is the perfect place to read, relax or enjoy a coffee in peace. Well appointed kitchens with a mini-fridge, sink, microwave and coffeemaker are perfect for vacationers. The bathroom has a sink toilet and a shower with great water pressure to relax weary travelers muscles after a day filled with fun. An area to unwind with a television (if you stay put long enough to watch it!) is at your disposal also. If you have questions, your hosts are available thru your booking app.

Relax and recharge as you partake of all this area has to offer from fishing, to history - great food to cycling and hiking…there is something here for EVERYONE!

The story of our tiny home accommodations has its roots in the late 1930s when the property was used as the Esso Park Auto Court, and also has had a few other uses during the years. The Eastern shore is a popular destination to explore and the reconditioning of these homes to be used as vacation accommodations is a great fit. Folks who wish to dip a toe into tiny home living will find the options at Cape Charles Tiny Livin to be an excellent option to ‘get the feel’ without committing long-term. Ease into your stay and find out if ‘Less Space, More Livin’ is the perfect lifestyle fit for you!

Those who are eco-conscious will feel at home knowing that their vacation choices are less impactful to the environment than staunchly luxurious large brand accommodations.

When visiting - you have an abundance of activities to partake of. Boating and kayaking are popular pastimes with many boating centers and marinas in the area. Rentals and eco-tours are available and work especially well for those who have not traveled with their own craft. Fishing charters are also a possibility with a number of operators in the area. You can explore the unique and ecologically significant Barrier Islands if you choose. The beach on Chesapeake Bay welcomes locals and tourists alike. The sandy shore is perfect for sitting and reading a great book, building sand castles or swimming; it’s also a superb place to find a shark's tooth or two along the shore!

For those who wish a creative or cerebral experience - there are a number of art galleries to explore. Each has its own style and collection of curated pieces.

If shopping is more your speed - Cape Charles has offerings that beckon loudly. You’ll find gourmet markets, art, specialty gift shops of all manner. There is something for every taste!

Perhaps a drive is in order - the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel is a great way to add interest to the journey - or to save time and make the trip shorter. This path connects Virginia’s Eastern Shore with Virginia’s mainland.

Delving into nature is easy- the Eastern Shore of Virginia National Wildlife Refuge is an area dedicated to the preservation of migratory and endangered species. Professionals and amateurs alike- bring your camera and see how many you find when you're there.

Foodies are in for quite the experience with the variety of offerings available here. Cape Charles is known far and wide for their clams, oysters and blue crabs which have become a staple here.

Horseback riding is available with over 150 acres of wooded trails and waterfront to explore. Paired with the perfect horse for any experience level - expert guides lead excursions allowing riders to experience both the beauty of nature and the bond with their mount.

In addition to the myriad of activities - there are a number of events that take place at various times of the year in and around the area. Your hosts are happy to make recommendations about anything from fun runs, open mic nights, craft beer/wine weekends, carnivals, cruises, concerts or any of the many holiday celebrations.

Find out why everyone is buzzing about this small town brimming with character, friendly folks and lots to do!

There is something here for EVERYONE. So.......Live *Big* with Cape Charles Tiny Livin'!

Good Tiny House Experience
We were appreciative that our dogs were welcome at the tiny house. Location was great for Cape Charles and beaches and the outdoor areas are fantastic. Although it was quite hot during our stay, we could see where the fire pit, cornhole and dart boards could be enjoyed by all. Our only complaint is that the house could have been cleaner. Throw rugs were pretty disgusting and all in all the house could use a good deep cleaning. The cottage was well equipped and we found that it had all the essentials for our short stay. It was just hard to get by the fact that the place did not feel or smell clean.

Wow! I absolutely LOVED my stay here! The tiny homes are adorable, clean, and very comfortable. The story behind the homes is also really cool! The owners went above and beyond during my stay, southern hospitality at its best. The location was great, just a few minutes away from the beach and historic Cape Charles. I'll be returning!

Such a unique experience
Our first experience in a tiny house in a tiny village. We are always looking for that very unique lodging and we found it . The decor and the story behind the houses is fascinating and living in an atmosphere that utilizes every foot is eye opening for sure. The owners are the best.

Awesome Experience!
This tiny house "village" is so special! We stayed in Mermaid - amazing "under the sea decor," very comfortable, great a/c, well equipped kitchenette, grounds safe/comfy for pet, wonderful fire pit area. So close to St. Charles, and state park with dog beach just down the road. But the best was hanging out with and getting to know our hosts. They were so welcoming and friendly - and FUN! Their love for this property shows, as does their incredible talent, in the rebuilding/refurbishing/design of the cottages - each with it's own theme or character. We highly recommend visiting, and make sure to meet your hosts or you'll be missing the BEST PART!

The Mermaid Cottage at Tiny Livin' Cape Charles
My husband and I greatly enjoyed our stay here. We love history and are definitely not city people, so this was perfect. The owners are renovating an historic car park. The cottage we rented was truly magical. Even if we would have been stuck inside by bad weather, it would have been okay because the place is so exquisite. The mermaid/sea theme is present throughout with lovely gradations of blue. The tiny bathroom is excellent with great water pressure, instant hot water and a rain shower head. The bed is extremely comfortable and the bedding and towels provided are high quality. Loved the convenience of the location. Close to food and necessity shopping. Bare minutes from Cape Charles. Maybe 20 minutes max from Kiptopeke. We bicycled to Cheriton and Cherrystone Inlet, visited Oyster, a real fishing town, watched the sunset in Cape Charles and Kiptopeke, and hiked the trails at the Savage Neck preserve. We also got to experience the most unique fire pit I've ever seen. Could even enjoy that in winter. Can't wait to come back.
