Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
So when made the reservation, made it with another couple that we’re traveling with we ended up in two different facilities because this facility has 18 facilities and guess what ours were right on a railroad track and they give you earplugs very very noisy and they would not move us
Only one major complaint and that was hot water for showers. At best in the evening the water is lukewarm but early in the morning good and hot. Nothing worse than a hotel that has an undersized hot water system. And big trains go by at all hours just at the back of the hotel.
Great location and easy to walk downtown. Rooms comfortable but no housekeeping at all. For the price, if would be nice to have some basic housekeeping.
Spacious room. Clean. Nice little breakfast bar upstairs with muffins and apples. Cappuccino maker. The train is LOUD. We live in a city and our room was louder than where we live. But we still managed to sleep and they provide ear plugs. Love the soap and shampoo - smells so good.
It’s hard to pull your car around the back of the property as it’s such a tight turn and our Ford Edge (which isn’t a larger vehicle) had to do a 3- point turn just to make it. And there are no elevators in this building, it was a pain to lug our cases up the stairs.
Basecamp Lodge in Canmore is a great spot with easy access to Banff and nearby attractions. The breakfast is simple yet satisfying, parking is convenient, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. A comfortable choice for exploring the Rockies.
The hotel is in a excellent location with ample parking. I enjoyed my stay here. Also enjoyed that they have complementary breakfast (muffins, toast, fruits, juices, coffee) available. Overal I enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it.

Liked: Staff & service
This hotel isn't 4 star though you would think so by the room rates. Our room was spacious and comfortable (great bed!) but Basecamp hasn't quite figured out how to design bathrooms. Small bathroom and shower water went everywhere. Bathroom exhaust fan wasn't strong enough to remove the moisture from the room. Small common kitchen area with breakfast foods, and coffee and tea was nice. Nice common area for lounging. Great location.
We stayed for 2 nights with our infant and had a great time. Check in wass super easy as they texted you beforehand with all the information. Location is amazing, surrounded by good restaurants and it's a quick walk to the scenic river paths/downtown. There's lots of train traffic nearby but we stayed on the opposite side of the train tracks so we didn't hear it. Oh, and the views are amazing. But that's a given in most places in Canmore.
