Property is super clean, staff is really nice! Poor food and entertainment choices. It’s absolutely quiet even during the day. A lot of elderly people. I wish the hotel made it clear it’s a time share property. Not my hotel style, will not stay again.

Overall a wonderful family resort. Check-in staff, room service, house cleaners and restaurant service team members were helpful and friendly. The property has several large pools and is very close to the beach. The views are amazing! The pool bar staff on Royal Sands I were very, very slow. It’s a 30 minute process to order a beer (10 min wait, additional 10 min after you order, and another 10 minutes to get your room key back). If you ask for a mixed drink good luck, it could take another 10-15 mins. Not to mention the pool gets significantly murky later in the afternoon. The pool staff at Royal Sands II were amazing. Our bartender was Mario, I think he had only been there 6 months. We called him Super Mario. He mixed up a French 75, amazing Margarita and several other cocktails. This pool remained as clean in the afternoon as it was in the morning. Overall, a great resort with just a few areas to improve.

We like this property and have stayed here before. The issue with this most recent stay is that it’s a time share property and they made us change rooms after the first night to accommodate a time share holder. They said I should have been notified when booking but I was not notified until I received an email on the day of my arrival letting me know that I would not have to change rooms. In the end, we did have to change rooms and the whole process seemed chaotic and inconvenient. They need to be more clear about this policy, and they need to be more accommodating to guests who are not time share holders, because we are still paying guests. Lines at the reception desk were often quite long and there were always more employees helping the time share members than other customers. We do love the location but may consider staying elsewhere on our next visit.

We got sat down at our table at 8:35, and we got our food at 10:03. The waiters took and gave orders to other people even though we were there first. It’s like they completely forgot about us and remembered us at the last minute. AND the pineapple juice took 25 minutes to come to us. I AM PRETTY SURE THAT PINEAPPLE JUICE DOES NOT TAKE 25 MINUTES. Don’t go here if you want your food fast.

We ordered room service one night and was never received. I had to switch rooms in the middle of my stay. I booked an ocean view stay and when switched my view was nothing of that. At some point we received attitude when requesting drinks at the pool bar from the staff. I had another time when staff was rude at the buffet. That’s only a scratch of the surface on the complaints and experience we had at this hotel. When I made these complaints to the staff TWICE I felt as if both times I was disregarded as if it was no big deal. Will not be going back for sure.

The property was nice. We would have enjoyed having more daytime dining options and late options after coming back from excursions. The Buffett doors locked before closing and room service wasn’t 24/7, making it hard to enjoy excursions and the amenities that were included. Service was ok but slow. They kept trying to sell us time share. We enjoyed the ability to go to the other properties for dinner and activities.
