The resort and staff were amazing, and I have already recommended this resort to friends. We stayed at the property during the off season, so couple of the areas on the property were not as maintained, however I understand during the off season is usually when a lot of resort maintenance is performed because of fewer guest. Food, resort, staff, cleanliness, all on point!

Hidden gem if you are looking for a chill place. This is not a “party resort”. It’s very laid back everyone leaves you alone unless you need something. The very best service, every employee is super friendly, they speak English perfectly, and genuinely care about how you’re doing. I will come back to Akuazul everytime from now on.

The place is beautiful, a lot of art and work has being done to it, the food was really good, staff very friendly and helpful, pool was really nice, the only thing I didn’t like is that it doesn’t have a beach, the water surrounding the hotel is dirty and the smell of fish is very strong, overall I enjoyed my stay

The people here are genuinely helpful and kind. They were wonderful and helped me with everything that I hadn't anticipated. It's not one of the resorts with everything included and a fabulous beach scene, but it's quiet and has great food and drinks. I would definitely stay here again.

This property was great for my situation.. just needed peace and quiet.. the hotel and my room was fine ,, clean and a comfy bed .. my only issue was with the abandoned beach area .. soooo much potential, but needs lots of tlc .. same with most of the outdoor areas..looks like it was once a very nice well thought out experience.. can definitely be revamped and brought back to life .. but I will be returning!!

Hotel has great photos on website but not so great when staying. Just there 1 night to catch a flight. Advertises 4 bars and restaurants, 1 restaurant and 1 bar was open. No one was even working the other locations. The 3 pools are dirty and small. The beach area was a swamp. Constant traffic noise. The staff was great and very helpful and the views were nice.

I should give 3 stars but because place is nice and staff is friendly. It aims to be top notch. But the breakfast make you question the quality of the whole place. Hash browns cold and ugly. “Free Breakfast is only coffee/ juice and fruit. Like why offer it and then it’s not. And breakfast is bland. Need a chef or new menu. You want people to come back? Then upgrade these things because it makes every else look poor. Like doesn’t make sense. The breakfast itself makes it a one store hotel. But if you do do lunch 4 stars plus the pool. But dinner and breakfast is horrible. But the pool is beautiful. Like if you don’t change that this hotel will fail

First of all, the staff at this resort were fantastic. From the second I arrived they all went out of their way to make me feel like a VIP guest. They could not have been nicer. The resort itself is pretty cool. I’d say it has a Balinese or south Asian style to it, with boardwalks through the mangroves and a jungle feel. I think this property has a lot of potential, but I do think it’s going through some growing pains. At the time I stayed here, the resort had only been open a few months. Many of the advertised amenities were not yet open, including the spa and several of the bars and restaurants. The one restaurant that was open did have good food and drinks though. The salads and fish dishes that I tried were very good. My biggest issue was the noise. There was practically zero soundproofing on the rooms, and they are located less than 20 feet from a major highway. This was especially apparent every night around 11 pm, when the local sport bikers drag raced up and down the highway, which was so loud it woke me up every night. The pool-side doors aren’t much better, and there were some very rude guests blaring music until 1 am one night I was there and the doors did nothing to block the noise. This resort has a ton of potential and the staff was so nice that I’d love to see it get more business. I would definitely give this place another chance if they can fix the noise issue in the rooms.
