Stunning uninterrupted moorland views over lake and Rough Tor

Mabel's Cottage offers a delightful rural retreat located on the edge of the moors and yet is only a few miles from the beautiful North Cornish coastline. The well known Port Isaac, Tintagel and Boscastle are all close by, along with the beautiful beach at Trebarwith Strand, and wonderful walks such as the Camel trail and St Necten's Glen to name but a few!
Climb the Tor, meet the local sheep, cows, chickens and ponies, listen to the birdsong. We have swallows nesting in the summer and the famous starling murmurations fly overhead twice a day from mid October until early spring. A real sight to behold.
Make yourself comfortable in this cottage, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private patio. Conveniences include a microwave and a washing machine.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Fantastic location
Perfect for two people, cottage finished to a high standard and very clean. Location is amazing, private with fantastic unspoilt views from the conservatory, which we were informed is being extended for next year. Lots of places to visit and eat out within easy reach should you want to, or just stay in and enjoy the peace and quiet and relax. We would definitely stay here again, thank you John & Wendy for our week.

Wonderful location with great views exactly as described. Great cottage, very comfortable with everything provided that was needed. Lovely owners who welcomed us personally, provided a cream tea on arrival and then lit the fire pit for us to sit outside one evening. We would love to return!

The perfect base for exploring North Cornwall
We had a lovely stay here. Wendy and John were very welcoming, and greeted us on arrival to show us around. The cottage itself is wonderful; thoughtfully decorated throughout with lots of luxurious little touches, and all the amenities you could need. The conservatory is a lovely place to admire the view when the weather inevitably takes a turn. Wadebridge, Padstow, Port Isaac etc. Are all in easy reach. We'd highly recommend the place to any couple looking for a peaceful break, and expect we'll be back ourselves before too long

A little piece of paradise
We truly enjoyed our stay in the Cornwall area. John and Wendy were extremely welcoming. They’ve created a wonderful little cottage which is in a great location in which to explore the area. After a day of exploring, it was nice to return to the cottage and just relax! The listing is definitely as described and we spent evenings overlooking the Tor in the very comfortable conservatory. There is an outdoor area with fire pit we would have taken advantage of had the evenings been rain free. A great experience and would definitely book again if travelling in same area.

Superb Location, Perfect Little Private Cottage, Wonderful Host
Imagine a beautiful Cornwall farm cottage set above an uninterrupted view of a quiet picturesque lake, all to yourself! That's Pennhalow Barn. What more could we have asked for? Simply nothing. But we also got a great little private cottage, with an attractive bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and an amazing sunroom overlooking the lake. Sunroom even has its own telescope to view the stars on cloudess nights. Did I mention the 3 pet lambs and chicken, Hilda? Wendy, our host, went out of her way to ensure our 6 nights in this magical corner of Cornwall, a few miles from the coast, were the absolute best. Hated to leave.

Relaxing break in a beautiful location
We were so lucky to find Mabel's Cottage at such late notice over the bank holiday weekend. The hosts were lovely and helpful- we can second their recommendation for dinner at Port William (Trebarwith Strand). Spotless and modern, with amazing views and peaceful location, the cottage provided just the relaxing stay we were looking for. We especially enjoyed watching the birds in the morning, and resident hedgehog at night!

Hidden gem is so relaxing
This spacious cottage with conservatory has unbelievable views of Rough Tor and sits in a well manicured lawn and garden. There is a built up rock platform with lounge chairs for a wide open view of the terrain, grazing sheep and horses. We called it the "Easy Tor." Feeding the sheep, chicken and birds while enjoying the spring sights and sounds gave us the relaxation we needed. John and Wendy were courteous and helpful super hosts. The accommodations were clean and well equipped. This was our most relaxing and enjoyable stay in our month long trek around the UK,
