Beautiful property
The property and location is spectacular. The house was very comfortable but we did have issues with power when using the air conditioner and the microwave. The owner's communication and help was excellent. A very relaxed and peaceful place.

Great farm property with gorgeous views
Located on the top of a hillock and surrounded by forest and hills on all side, the property location is great, quite and feels very secluded and remote. The dirt road to the property is not great but is approachable by a 2WD in dry weather. It's a nice place for an enjoyable weekend or even a longer vacation. The only downside was a broken shower in one of the bathrooms and a slightly defective gas cook-top as some of the stoves were not functioning properly. Overall, we had a memorable stay at the Ironbark.

Remote, means access is not straightforward but the house enjoys lovely views and the river is pretty. Expect the consequences of isolation, eg low water pressure and terrific night skies. Owner and manager were attentive with fire wood and information.

This is a must stay!
I surprised my son (who took 4 of his friends) with 3 nights here for his 21st birthday. Ian was fantastic from the very start. All of the boys had the best time & commented on how awesome the property & stay was & how accommodating Ian was. Thanks Ian for helping me provide a wonderful 21st for my son.

An oasis close to home
The property was an experience of a lifetime - an indoor and outdoor fireplace, a creek running at walking distance, a river at one end of the property and a very clean property. The owner was lovely, having offered to guide us up from the entrance itself - it was a long and adventurous road to the actual living area. Ian is lovely to chat with, always willing to help where he can. Will definitely plan to go back every year. The 4 kids loved it.

Perfect Remote Weekend
Firstly, great spot. The view from the covered BBQ area is unreal. Fire pit, golf tee, outdoor BBQ and fridge and plenty of seats and tables. Surrounded by green lawn and bush, for a bit of cricket or footy, it was perfect for a group of mates on a fishing trip. The river is within walking distance but it’s easier to drive so you can take stuff with you, no you can’t see it from the house, but that didn’t bother us. Plenty of beds with clean sheets and towels all provided. Two bathrooms both with toilet and shower. Wifi also available which is great because reception is very spotty. Driveway is a long trip in, about 20-30mins coming from Nowra, and dirt once you come into the National park, but perfectly fine for a 2WD even with a bit of rain, we all got in no worries just take it slow. Ian was easy to chat too and dropped in at the start to show us around. There is a lot of stuff around the edge of the house, it’s not exactly tidy but it’s all useable hence why it’s there. Golf clubs, gold panning gear, kids bikes and some maintenance stuff. Few things were starting to fall apart like fly screens and stuff but didn’t bother us. Will be back for sure.

Amazing stay
I stayed up at Ian’s with a large group of friends looking for a fun trip away and it delivered. There were so many things to do at the house meaning we barely had to leave. Stunning location and creek to swim in - if we ever had problems Ian is extremely hospitable and quick to communicate with. Overall amazing, 100% recommended and will hopefully return again :)))

Adventure holiday
Amazing location, super friendly and helpful host, great for kids - especially the golf and darts, be good to have more info about where to go for walks, we did it with 2wd, lots of rain - we managed but bit scary in parts, a great adventure, beautiful country. Would come again.

A real country getaway.
We were 9 adults aged 21 - 81, and 4 children aged 1 - 12. Plenty of beds for everyone all made up with clean fresh sheets. Two bathrooms were great with lots of fresh towels and bath mats. Views were spectacular. We had visits from local wildlife. A short 2 min drive in the car got us down the hill to the river. Water was cold and refreshing. Ian has provided a wonderful solar powered property that still has air con in the main living areas and WiFi and satellite TV. So impressive for an off grid bush farm stay. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend. You'd have to be fairly 'precious' not to love this place.

Away from the hustle and bustle
We stayed at this property for our mothers 80th birthday and we had a great time. The road in is a little rough but it adds to the adventure. There is no phone reception which is a nice change. Open fire place this time of year heated the whole house and there is also an outdoor fire pit which we used as well. Ian is there for anything you need. Great weekend away.

Our group of 3 families had an amazing time here for the June long weekend. Kids ages ranged from baby to 16yrs old and they had a blast. Some even said it was the best holiday they had ever had! Everyone enjoyed playing golf, fishing, walking down the river, darts, riding bikes, looking for wombats, kangaroos and cows and sitting by the outside fire. The river was lovely and clean but unfortunately this time of year too cold to swim! Ian was very accommodating and a lovely man. If there is anything you need he will get it for you if he can. The beds were very comfy and the house flooring and lounges are updated which is not shown in the photos. The road in wasn’t too bad. One family had a baby in a 2wd Kluger and it was fine. Overall, what a beautiful place to stay to get away from it all. We will definitely be back!
