We recently stayed at Park Plaza Budapest, and while the staff were very nice and welcoming, our experience was mixed. The best part of the hotel is the incredible view of the Parliament building—it’s truly stunning! However, the hotel is located on the Buda side of the river, which is very quiet with almost no nightlife or restaurants nearby. All the action, including restaurants and attractions, is on the Pest side, making it a long walk across the bridge to get to everything.
The rooms are very spacious, which we appreciated. However, I wish the cleaning staff would come earlier in the day. We often returned from our daily tours around 3 PM, and that’s when the cleaning crew would arrive, interrupting our time to rest.
It’s a good 25-minute walk to get to the Pest side where all the action is. We sometimes ended up using Bolt (similar to Uber) to get around. Uber is relatively new there, so the wait times were long, and we quickly switched to using Bolt for more convenience.
Overall, while the hotel has its perks, especially the view, the location and service timing were less convenient than we had hoped.
