Wonderful area! The cabins are older, but well maintained. If you don’t like insects, you might choose a different place to stay. Our room had stink bugs, wasp, ladybugs and flies.
The Lodge is in a beautiful area, close to the Visitor's Center where the cave tours start. The Sunset Terrace room was quiet and comfortable. Trails were just a few steps away. We stayed in early November, and the only downside was that dining options in the park closed at 5 PM that late in the season. We did find restaurants in Cave City, though. Overall, a fun, relaxing stay.
We rented an historic cabin for 2 nights. Wonderful stay and within walking distance of cave entrance, restaurants, gift shops. Everything was convenient and we didn't need to drive for 2 days. The cabin was very quaint, clean, and comfortable. No microwave or fridge, but a coffee maker. Some lighting was being installed along the walkways to the cabins and that will make it easier at night. We had a full moon view and ATLAS comet view. Great stay.
The Lodge location, very nearby the visitor center of Mammoth Cave National Park, is the primary appeal of this property. It is a “Lodge” as opposed to a motel/hotel so expectations should be managed accordingly. Everything was clean and in good order…
It was great! Our boys loved it. We got Mexican and ate in the room, we had lots of space, could easily walk to trails and the visitor center. I loved it! It felt like going away to camp.

That’s are historical cabins on Mammoth Cave National Park. Comfortable beds no TV which made the cabin perfect. Great stay. Deer were
There to greet us.
Beautiful and serene location. Cabin was very clean and well equipped. Only issue is I had some trouble figuring out the heating controls, so the room got cold at night. In hindsight I should have called the front desk and asked for help earlier. Still a memorable experience to stay in one of these cabins right inside the park.

We stayed in the cottages. It was a little rustic for us, but it brought back memories from when we were children visiting with our grandparents. What we didn't like was the wasp nest in the room, no hot water to shower, and the rooms got very cold during the night. One of the bright points for us was hearing the birds sing when the sun came up.
We loved the proximity to the visitor center! The cabin was so cozy and everything we wanted. Spectacular view of the park, and being that close to the visitor center was great after doing a 4 hour hike through the cave!

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Cabins very old, no insulation and poorly functioning heater. Minimal lighting among cabins made it hard to find our unit after sunset. Might be a more positive review if we’d stayed in mid summer.
We stayed at the Terrace Lodge, like we did exactly 50-yrs ago on our honeymoon.
The Terrace was exactly as it was 50-yrs ago. While some areas and other buildings have changed, the Park is much like it has been since my first (1st) visit in 1964.
Roughing it is the best way to describe staying at this location. It is like staying at a Maine campground. While the cabins have heat and air, internet is nonexistent. There is internet at the main building. At night it is sooo quiet and dark. The beds are comfortable though. Just know before you go.
