Disliked: Amenities
The clerk at the front desk was very kind and accommodating. He mentioned that renovations were soon going to be done. The new owner/manager also asked for our feedback in order to guide their renovation needs.
On the negative side:
The back entrance to our room was totally unsecured. Anyone from outside either an actual guest or possibly a homeless person, or other intruder, could enter the hotel simply by pushing the handicap buttons. The doors were not locked.
The furniture was very worn, scratched, cracked, etc. All should be replaced.
The sink was also cracked.
The floor in our room was worn and missing the top layer in one area.
The hall carpeting was soiled and didn’t look like it had even been vacuumed.
The room phone was not working, so we could not call out or even reach the front desk.
The walls need fresh paint.
The seal was broken in the window in our room and the casing was taped.
On the positive side:
The bed was clean and comfortable.
The curtains were fine.
The breakfast menu was ok, but there was no staff person to help with directions, but there were too many tables too close together, so it was difficult to squeeze between them with food in our hands.
Generally, we were quite disappointed with the conditions of the building, but appreciated the staff.
