I loved the quaintness of this inn. I felt safe in my beautiful room. Most notably, Brandon is the perfect spot for an exploration of Vermont. You’re within driving distance of Burlington, Woodstock, Stowe, and Middlebury. I loved my stay, and will definitely be back!!
The Brandon Inn is a beautiful, historic building, however, there was many upgrades that need to happen to make it a worthwhile stay. The bedding was stained, the bathtub paint was chipping off, the shower curtain support was missing, making the rod no stable at all. The room I had, had no heat source other than a very old space heater, that I didn’t feel comfortable running at nighttime. In addition, the mattress was very uncomfortable. The room seemed fairly clean, except it clearly hadn’t been dusted in a while, and the bedding stains were displeasing. I was also off put by the fact that there wasn’t staff there, and the exterior doors were all left unsecured all night. Luckily the rooms themselves had punch coded dead bolts, but it was still a bit odd.

I liked the charm of the building and the staff was very friendly
I labeled this trip the Hallmark Movie vacation. A fantastic historic hotel in full fall foliage. Everyone we met were pleasant and helpful. Brandon is conveniently located to where everything is just a short drive through the beautiful mountains of Vermont. Highly recommended.
Everything was great but the bed was very uncomfortable. We would have asked for another room but we were just staying one night.

Desk staff were very nice and helpful. We had several local family members come to the Inn to visit with us (10 people total) and there was plenty of room for all of us. Coffee, tea and water were provided. Our room was pretty chilly and there didn’t seem to be a way to turn on the baseboard heaters. There was a small space heater running in the room. As mentioned in a previous review, the floors are fairly uneven (it’s an old building after all) so the head of the beds seemed to be lower than the foot but there were plenty of pillows. Check in and check out were both very easy and convenient.
The Inn is beautiful but run down. Our room was cold with light blankets provided. Every sheet of wallpaper was peeling. The bathroom vanity was so small, hair in the bathroom and a drain that was dislodged. But the worst thing is that the do not disturb sign was on the door, and the housekeeper knocked on the door to ask if we would leave early because the next guests were there already. I verified that check out was at 11:00, but at 9:45 this inquiry was made. It was made very clear to me with the directions that check-in was at 3:00, so why was I being rushed out? While there is lots of potential my expectations were not met especially given the price.
Overall stay was fine- biggest problem is lack of elevator service and when one is 82y/o, that is a problem. But the town is charming and a fun place to visit.
Loved this hotel! It was built in I think 1786, so it had that nostalgic feel. The elevator is something from the late 1800's to early 1900's and the floor in my room was actually slanted, but I thought it was all pretty cool. The free breakfast could've been a little better but I was able to make do with some cheese, toast, and coffee. The Cafe Provence around the corner was really good; enjoyed a nice dinner with a glass of their Octoberfest brew, which was tasty and hit the spot. I would definitely not hesitate to stay at this hotel for multiple nights and will hopefully be back in the future with my family.

Minimal comfort and amenities.
We were placed on the 4th floor. There was a hotel employee run elevator, but no one was available. All 4 of us are in our 70s, lugging suitcases up 4 flights of stairs, and claw foot high bathtubs were hard to navigate. . Free breakfast was very minimal, bread, yogurt, fruit. Each room was decorated in vintage style, very cute!
