I enjoyed being able to walk the property a lot or a little. The map of the walking trails gave the mileage from place to place which I used to walk 4 miles. I appreciated the breakdown of distances. Our room was okay, but the bathroom sink was severely stopped up and we had someone come to fix it 2 days in succession, but it never was fixed adequately. Someone had to come and fix the safe (someone should have made sure it was ready to use when we checked in). It would be helpful to label the ceiling fan control and also the control for the fireplace. Please replace the expresso maker with a Keurig or regular coffee maker. The expresso machine was difficult to work ( 2 pics and no written words or directions). When I finally made a cup (about 2-3 oz) it tasted terrible. .

This is an older property that needs updating. It was not sufficiently staffed. Very overpriced. I know the fall foliage had something to do with what we paid. It was a very standard room two nights $1100 never again had I not been splitting it with friends, I would’ve never stayed there. It seemed they were having staff issues at the front desk and restaurant, bar. Very disappointed.

Beautiful, cozy, walk to town, great restaurant

Property was beautiful, was hoping for a more quiet stay. There were a lot of family’s with young kids. The facility was very clean and comfortable. We did take advantage of the spa which was relaxing but located outside the pool area which had alot of kids. Great stay for families not so much couples looking for quiet.

When we got in late 10pm the front desk staff tried charging us an extra $200 resort fee that wasn’t stated online. We had two young children one of which I needed to nurse but he couldn’t figure out how to give us the room key without charging us which would have made the room double the price basically. Then the next day I woke up to shower and there was no hot water. I waited 10’mins & still no hot water. I had no choice but to take a cold shower. I was already cold since it was 45 that morning. The water had so much softener in it I could hardly rinse the soap off. For $350 a night (during the week) we shouldn’t have delt with either of those issues. The front staff that morning was also rude.

We visit Chetola annually and enjoy the convenience. We stay at other lodging in the area too but always return for the service, comfort and convenience. The grounds are so lovely any time of year and the staff exceedingly kind. We had an issue with our AC ...maintenance was there in 2 minutes and resolved. It's that kind of attention to detail that keeps us coming back. See you in a few months for more mountain adventure!

I took a girls’ trip to this resort with my 5 year old daughter and we both had the best time. The staff is so friendly and helpful. My daughter loved the pool and the playground and the beach area at the lake. The room was comfortable and the grounds were absolutely beautiful. We hope to return soon!

Waited two hours for our food. Took an hour and 15 mins to get the smallest bowl of soup. It took too long for drink refills. Asked the hostess to check on our food, and it still took another 20 mins. After our children couldn’t wait any longer, we took them back to the room, I called down to speak with the supervisor and he said he couldn’t do anything because we didn’t talk to him in the restaurant. Very poor services at the Timberlake.
