Girls trip
We found this spot for a quick girls hiking trip. It was a perfect size for us. Easy to find, easy access to get in the house and great location to everything. We definitely enjoyed the hot tub after a long day of hiking and enjoyed the amazing view while drinking coffee in the mornings.

Cozy scenic spot
This place was all we needed for a cozy mountain weekend celebrating our sons birthday. It's close to fun activities, private, beautiful scenic view of the mountains from the hottub, and though it is a bit outdated inside it didn't detract from our experience at all. We loved that it had a ping-pong ball set up for the dining room table for our boys.

The Bird's Nest was great!
This is a quiet, clean and lovely place. You are up in the tree tops with a beautiful view. It has a well-stocked kitchen with plenty of dishes and cookware. It is beautiful inside. The only thing I had to get used to were the vertical turns going up the mountain roads to get there. But once there, it is lovely. I would definitely stay there again.

Great View
The property had a great view from the back of the home but even better in the front, the house across the street has a peach tree and the deer pretty much stay there all day eating so no matter the time of day you get to see deer all the time. The house itself is quite a bit outdated but overall clean accept for the master bedroom ceiling fan which is pretty dusty and we could not use due to allergies. It doesn’t have clean fresh feeling like other places we have stayed at , the bathroom rug in the master bath was absolutely filthy looks like it has never been washed and the curtains are all to small for the windows. If it was cleaned and updated it would have been worth more than what we paid just because of the scenery. But because it doesn’t have that nice clean feeling I would be hesitant to stay again

Amazing views with secluded feel
This property had gorgeous views of the mountains. While there are houses around, it is situated to give you a very secluded feel. The jacuzzi tub was amazing as was the hot tub. While it was just me and my husband this would be a great rental for having another couple along as well. Everything was clean and as advertised and close to Boone, Linville, and Beech mountain. Couldn’t have asked for a better property or location. Can’t wait to go back.

Annoying stay
This property was very clean and had all the basics, location was great, furniture was comfortable, it was ideal for what we wanted. The first annoying part was getting to the property late (had worked all day and drove all day so didn’t throughly read the agreement that said you have to go to their office, couple miles away), for the key. Finally get there and it was just a paper with the door code and some instructions. Why couldn’t that be a pdf in an email? Then we finally get back up to the property and try to shower and warm up the hot tub to relax after such a long day of traveling. No hot water, tub had been off so it was just cold all around. After just giving up for the night and sleeping it off I woke up to find that the circuit breakers were off for the water heater, and several other ones for whatever reason. I called the management company and someone went out there to make sure everything was working. The management people were very nice and the person that went out there was very helpful we had hot water again, turned on the fireplace that we couldn’t get on (very hard to do for some reason) and tan the hot tub and advised us it’ll take a while to get warm. We had a whole day of snowboarding so that’s fine by the time we got back to the property the tub should’ve been warm. Get back to the property excited for a hot tub and a couple of relaxing drinks with the fam in there only to find it freezing cold still. Running, noisy, but cold. If this was a week long trip with a one-two day annoyance of stuff not working well then ok whatever, not a big deal. But this was literally the whole trip, quick weekend trip, where we chose this instead of a hotel to have the amenities of a hot tub in a nice cabin. The management company was told about this, they provided a partial refund for “hot tub fees” since it wasn’t used. But at the end of the day we just wanted a nice, smooth, weekend trip and the accumulation of these little things really put a damper on things. It’s not a super cheap property so I expected way more. In this case, the basics at least. If you know someone is going to be staying at the property then look over it, makes sure the breakers are on and that everything is functioning.

Weekend stay
Good location and easy to find. House was clean and well stocked with toiletries. Kitchen had everything we needed. The view from the deck is beautiful. We enjoyed watching the sun rise over the mountains. The hot tub was cold and did not have power and there was some strange combination to get power to all the outlets. We never figured them all out. We gave up trying to get power to the outlets in the bathroom. There is a nice tub with jets but not enough hot water to fill the tub so couldn't use that either. The house worked fine for a ski weekend but would not want to pay this price to stay longer with the other issues.

Okay, but not worth the rental price.
The main reason we chose the place was its "no steps" to climb feature, which was great, because of my disability and my wife's knees. We enjoyed sitting on the deck. But- the place needs to addess these problems, to be worth the higher rental price compared to others we considered: windows that were screwed closed in the guest bedroom and one that had a sash that had to be propped up to stay open in the MBR. - we did not plan on using the hot tub, but it was so noisy that we had to unplug it. - we tried to follow the absurdly complicated instructions, but could not get the gas fireplace to start. It needs to be updated to work like anywhere else – with the flip of a switch. - the couch and chair in the living room were very low to the floor and so uncomfortable, that I left with a backache. - the washing machine did not work; luckily, we did not try it until the night before we left so it wasn’t needed for our short stay But as I said, the house needs some basic maintenance (e.g. paint the Master bath) and upgrades.

Labor Day Weekend
A beautiful abode, but....... I am a 73 year old disabled vet and my significant other, a 63 year old Lady. My 51 year old son and his wife were there also, just to say we are the type of folks who do appreciate the amenities and have a respect for the properties we rent. A few observations & suggestions: Fix the drain in the master bedroom, a new mattress perhaps in the guest bedroom (atrocious!); the hot tube used once, does not get very hot. A few simple amenities would also be appreciated, i.e. pepper (??), an implement or two for the out door grille and most importantly, a somewhat comfortable sofa. Honestly, the existing one looks great in the space, but sit on it and see if "you" would care to remain for more than a few minutes. Oh, the instructions when leaving, “clean the grille”, that should be a requirement upon arrival or prior to cooking (just so you know, we didn’t need to be told). “Wash all dishes and put them away”. Wouldn’t it have been okay to put them in washer, start the wash and leave them there. The last morning was no pleasure, no time for breakfast, barely for coffee, considering the washing and putting all away. We did sweep up a bit and organize what might have been out of place. We have in these past few years visited the mountains quite often for a long weekend. We will do it more and more but would we stay here again. Yes, it is a lovely home, great deck and view and all in all, a convenient space, if it had a different sofa! Thank you, John

Great Stay at the Birds Nest
Really cute house with great location and views! Overall, very clean. Just the right size for our family of four. Easy access to Hawks Nest, Sugar Mt, etc. We had snow our first night that we were there. I would say that be prepared to do some shoveling to get out of the driveway. I would highly recommend an all wheel and/or 4 wheel drive car if you are planning to visit during the winter months. We will stay again in the future.

Beautiful!
We stayed there for a week and we loved it! The location of the house was just perfect!! Minutes away from hiking trails, sugar mountain, beech mountain and many other cool places. The view from the house was breathtaking and the deers around the house were just too adorable. Management was great, we ran out of propane gas and they took care of it within a few hrs. The only thing is that the house is in a mountain (we didn’t know) so driving a 4WD would have made things easier specially when it snowed. We would love to come back next year! :)

Leaky Christmas
Arrived at house after unpacking decided to walk around property outside to stretch our legs only to be locked out! Apparently the door locks automatically after a few minutes, we had no way of getting in as the paper with code was inside still can’t understand why rental managing company didn’t just email code like most do. This was after 5pm on 23rd when we called office the a message simply said no one would be back until the 26th! Luckily a security guard had contact for someone and we got the code. Then we noticed water was coming in through sliding glass door and from the look of the floor there it’s been happening awhile after we got the floor dry we noticed the roof was leaking above the fire place and rain water was dripping on tv and floor! Luckily the rain stopped!
