I was here for business and the employer booked my stay. Pros: close to down town, clean, breakfast included. Cons: the price was high for a very basic accommodation, the vibe was very exmotel 6, very limited lighting options in the room, carpet was very much past its prime. The staff were polite and I can see that it’s a small business so I’m happy to support small business, I just didn’t feel like the price of the accommodation matched.

2 star DIY motel 6 retrofit - smoke smell
I have no idea why the reviews are so good. I booked a suite and this is like a converted motel 6. Doors open to the public. Building is ugly. The rooms are like Home Depot DIY. My room smelled like smoke. AC was window units. Breakfast is a couple of frozen things they heat up in the microwave. 2 star place at best.

This was such a fun property with easy access to all of downtown Boise. We were a bit worried when we saw road construction outside the hotel, but it was quiet throughout our stay and did not impact anything we did. Modern Hotel has bike borrowing for up to 4 hours and we took advantage of that every day we were there. It was fun to bike all around Boise. The staff was super friendly and helpful and their coffee and morning breakfast aimed to please- and did.
