Great find, extensive car park, very comfortable room with everything you need and a lovely touch was a decanter with a little sherry in for a pre dinner tipple. Food was good with an extensive menu and friendly helpful staff. All in all a great 2 night stay in this lovely hotel. Ideally situated for Eden project visit, would definitely recommend.
The hotel is a 12 century building with the history of the area in our room. I was not sure if our room was originally the Blacksmith/Butchers in days gone by. However, It was the first place 'ever' that we have been to that had a certificate to show the bed had been hygienically cleaned.
Fresh milk was provided outside our door each morning in a glass bottle and if more was needed one only had to ask. It was lovely to have Cornish tea, coffee herbal tea and water in our room promoting Cornwall. We were provided with home cooked biscuits refreshed when needed. What did surprise us the most was to see a decanter with sherry and glasses free for our use.
The bed was very comfy with white sheets and a feather duvet. In the bathroom were lovely white towels, and a few personal items for ladies.
Breakfast was continental (home cooked ham) with a choice of a cooked breakfast for an extra cost. My husband took advantage of this both mornings and found this very filling. After breakfast we took a short walk across the road to see the old church.
We chose to eat there each evening, which was reasonable priced and once again very satisfying. Because we had pre booked the table they were set up very warmly with candles away from the general public area. Serviettes were made of cotton not disposable.
The outside garden area was very welcoming and busy with locals and visitors giving a loved atmosphere of wanting to be there. The staff were all very polite and pleasant.
Fabulous place to stay! So many little touches that make a big difference for a relaxing, comfortable stopover and such good value for money. My room was clean with lovely bedding and decor. The Continental breakfast included in the room rate was delicious and included local produce and there was an option to upgrade to a nice selection of cooked breakfasts. Will definitely stay here again.
Great place to stay! Only complaint was that noise from the room above was quite loud, nothing intentional, just the toilet flushing, taps on, walking about.
Would definitely stay here again though.
Absolutely charming Inn. The owners are extremely nice and very competent. Will gladly stay here in the future. Cottage room #2 had such cozy beds! Excellent dining. Be sure to check out Emily Woodard’s art on the walls. Wonderful experience. Thank you Crown Inn!
Gorgeous old pub in a village setting. Lots of parking. The accommodation buildings are set apart from the pub, and our room was beautiful. Breakfast is served in the pub restaurant- but the landlord will deliver a jug of milk in the morning for use with the tea making facilities. Just make sure the sign outside your door is set to “yes please” for milk! No plastic in sight. We ate at the pub in the evening and the food and service were very good too.
really lovely clean rooms with really comfy beds and soft pillows. Go into the bar on a wednesday and get involved in the wednesday club, amazing locals, some great stories to be heard. Food was awesome too, all nice and fresh and local. Breakfast, amazing!
Probably one of the best quaint B&B/Pub accommodation I’ve stayed at. The room was very cosy with a personal touch of homemade shortbread and I think it was local wine or sherry. Very comfortable after a lot of driving. The food in the pub was fantastic, real hearty stuff especially on a cold evening. The beers went down well and the locals really friendly. Tim and his team doing a tremendous job and this place can’t be recommended enough. Will 100% stay there again next time I’m in the area. Don’t miss out, get booking 👍👍
