But the view was nice
I recently stayed at this hotel, and while there were a few positives, the negatives significantly impacted my experience. Let’s start with the good: the rooms were freshly renovated and looked great. The design was modern, and everything inside felt new and clean, which was definitely a highlight of the stay. However, the positives quickly faded due to a series of issues. First, the approach to the property was off-putting. As we drove in, it looked like we were arriving at an abandoned construction site, and didn’t know if the place was open or operating. It was difficult to shake the feeling that the hotel was still under construction or not fully operational. The bed, while new, was extremely uncomfortable. It was so stiff that both my partner and I woke up with sore backs the next morning. Despite being newly renovated, the bed was painful to sleep on, which made it hard to enjoy the stay. To make matters worse, the noise from upstairs was unbearable. It sounded like furniture was being moved around constantly throughout the night. This, paired with a neighboring room’s dog barking non-stop, made it nearly impossible to get any rest. Even after contacting the front desk, there was no noticeable effort to address the issue. Overall, while the rooms themselves were nice, the uncomfortable bed, constant noise, and the unsettling first impression of the property’s exterior made this a less-than-ideal stay. I would hesitate to return unless these issues are resolved

The room was wonderful, newly renovated and modern. Quiet and awesome views of the bay. Staff was super friendly and accommodating! Will definitely recommend and return in our next trip to Bodega Bay!

When we first drove onto the property, I wasn't sure it was still in business as it looked as though it was in the process of being gutted with construction debris, dumpsters, building materials all over the place, a couple of abandoned vehicles, and the landscaping was littered with garbage, old hoses and other debris. When I walked up to the lobby door, a sign on the door stated they would be back after 2pm. We then noticed a housekeeper coming from one of the rooms in another building further away from the lobby and she explained that they were undergoing renovations but that a couple of the buildings were finished and being offered to guests. She showed us one of the rooms, and thankfully they were fairly well appointed and updated. This property shouldn't be available on hotels.com due to the condition. There weren't amenities offered, like the hot tub or relaxing area outdoors. I felt bad for the front desk person who was incredibly frustrated for the condition of the property and how long it had been under construction and how long it will likely take to finish. It's not her fault that the property is not as advertised.

We ended up not staying and will now try to work with Expedia to get a full refund. The place in under renovation. It's pretty much a construction site. Dirty, noisy, dusty, construction crews had all the parking. I tripped over a ripped up carpet on the stairs and nearly fell. The owners need to shut down until construction is completed or, at least warn people and let them choose to book under these conditions or not. I found a very lovely place up the nearby.
