The Imperial is a hotel with history and an air of the type of establishment enjoyed by colonials in Victorian days. Although the majority of the furniture in the lounges has been replaced by more contemporary units, it is still easy to envisage well dressed ladies and gentleman in period costume reading broadsheet staples such as the Telegraph or Times. This doesn't detract from a more modern equipment such as computers and tablets for checking in and the key card system of accessing rooms. The service from the staff resembled what you would imagine the fine ladies and gentlemen received. Nothing was too much or a rigmarole. We booked a basic room and it was Ronseal. Provided everything we needed. Thd breakfast buffet in the mornings was excellent, with the cooked element being fresh, hot and really quality ingredients.
Overall, this was a great place, well located and great service. We would both love to rebook, and probably will.
