Overall, the Ibis is a good place to stay for a few nights in Coventry. It is located within walking distance of both the train station and the city centre. The staff are, for the most part, friendly and helpful (there was one exception on the morning I left, but it was early and no one is at their best at 6.30am). The first room I was given was far too noisy, to the extent that sleeping was not easy - the room (132) is right next to a busy main road/roundabout and the old sash windows offer almost no sound proofing. I asked to be moved - and by the time I returned on my second day, I had been transferred to a room that faced out the back of the hotel. Strangely, this room, although in a far quieter location, had a far better double-glazed (non-sash) window that silenced any stray noise from outside. The hotel need to consider changing the windows in any road-facing rooms to match these, as that would probably help to significantly reduce the problem. Breakfast was a buffet, but sufficient. Noise aside, the rooms were comfortable and the shower worked very well. Sort out the noise and this would be closer to a 5-star review

Great experience, the rooms were clean and quiet, no issues at all. Breakfast was a little pricey for what it is worth (in my opinion), but good nonetheless. I will come back again.

Staff are lovely but the hotel needs a revamp. Air condition did not work in both rooms. Marks on most walls. TV outdated. Half the channels missing unable to connect with phone. Hair dryer and iron were in poor condition.

We stay frequently at this hotel, and we much appreciate the value of the location in Coventry, and the adequacy of the facilities in the hotel. The staff were very welcoming in helping us with some requests. The main downside of our room this time is that the water in the sink really doesn't smell good at all - almost has a sewage scent.
