I LOVED THE LOCATION OF THE HOTEL, FOR THE MOST PART QUIET CONSIDERING IT'S RIGHT DOWNTOWN! MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT I COULD HEAR THE MAN IN THE ROOM NEXT TO MINE WHEN HE WAS ON THE PHONE AT 6 IN THE MORNING. I COULD HEAR HIM THROUGH THE WALLS, AND HE WAS JUST TALKING IN A REGULAR SPEAKING VOLUME. IT MADE ME CONCERNED THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO HEAR ME WHEN I WAS WATCHING TV OR LAUGHING OR ANYTHING, REALLY. OTHER THAN THAT, THE BREAKFAST BUFFET HAD SO MANY GREAT CHOICES, THE VIEW FROM MY ROOM WAS COOL, AND THE ROOM WAS REALLY NICE! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING! ALL OF THE STAFF MEMBERS I ENCOUNTERED WERE VERY NICE AND HELPFUL. THE HOTEL IS BEAUTIFUL!

I appreciate that we were given a remodeled room when I requested this. We stay at this hotel twice a year during the Christmas Village and Cottontails at the BJCC. However the staff at the check in desk were not friendly or helpful in any of our interactions. The coffee that was out when we checked in was cold and we asked for fresh coffee, but it was never made. Then at 6:30 AM breakfast was not ready and the coffee from the day before was out. We expect better from this hotel as we have always lived our stays.

The hotel had an older grand charm. Service ranged from wonderful, with the kind and helpful valet attendant, to dealing with a grouchy lady at the front desk, who didn’t smile, look you in the eye, and when asked what our room number was, told us to look at our paper. The room was very clean and modern with an old world charm. However, the 2 antique windows had a crack in each, but it didn’t bother us. Also, we only had one roll of toilet paper for 4. I had to go down to the front desk the next morning to ask for another. The coffee pot was a little rinky-dink, with the top falling off, but it worked well. The tub stopper was was not screwed in. Not sure if it was broke or supposed to be like that. We all took showers though and didn’t need to stop up the tub. However, upon taking a shower, the water would not get hotter than barely warm. That was bothersome to some because they were not able to shave with that temp. The breakfast room was quaint and many breakfast options available. The food options were a bit of an upgrade to food I have had at other hotels. There was one tiny scoop of grits left that I got, is my only breakfast complaint. I am not sure if more was added to the pot later. Everything needed a little salt and pepper, but that was not a big deal. Salt and pepper was provided. The hotel is walking distant to the concert arena. That was very nice. There was also a beautiful little park across the street.

Plastic knives and forks at breakfast left, almost literally, a bad taste. So environmentally insensitive. They were cheap and nasty too. And the valet parking, advertised at $38, seemed extortionate especially when the real cost is $41.80 due to tax. On the plus side, room was large with a comfortable bed

VALET PARKING ONLY option for off street parking. Not a great rate once you factor in valet parking plus tip, which is the reason for 4 stars and not 5. We were just passing through and didn’t need the fancy of a valet for the night. However the hotel is beautiful, bed was great, breakfast delicious and staff exceptional. Valet employe was the bomb. Just wish we’d known valet was the only option before booking.
