This was the highlight of our trip! A 4x4 is definitely needed to access this camp site. When you get into Bidiyah prior to offroading, people will try to persuade you that you will need another car to make it to the campsite. I personally believe that this can be done alone but you should be a little confident in your car handling.
The room was fantastic - luxury camping at its finest! I loved how remote this location is - miles and miles away from people. There are only four units there so you are guaranteed a quiet time. The camel ride in the sunset and stargazing afterwards was amazing. The food buffet that was prepared by our host for dinner and breakfast was super delicious. Our Bangladeshi host Mohammed was super kind, helpful - please make sure that you tip them - they deserve it.
everything was fine about the property and the service. My review is not about the stay but the extra things offered by the camp like camel riding. As we were informed before, camel riding was offered to watch the sunset and we were excited about this. However, the guide was not familiar with the camels and their habits. So, a young and inexperienced camel (and guide) were about to take us to the dunes when just before start the young camel got crazy and unfortunately he dropped my wife down and started kicking her by his hands and legs on the ground. The Camp was really great and at very good conditions while showed a great hospitality but this experience made a big situation for us and we couldn't enjoy our stay; neither the camp nor the desert. Although the manager and the staff did their best to change the situation and even offered to take us to the hospital but actually it didn't help until now that we returned home and ended up with a broken hand and some minor injuries! So, this concluded our trip!
i tried to be fair with the management and the camp staff as they really showed a lot of kindness and in the check in process before driving to the desert, they helped us by proper guidance and it avoided local safari drivers to cheat us by charging 30 Rials to take us to the dunes!
Very secluded desert camp, only 5 rooms in this cosy area. Room was comfortable though it lacked hot water to bathe at night and it was too cold. Otherwise, we enjoyed the meals and experience, especially stargazing at night and camel riding the next day.
This the place where you escape from all of the modern life issues and technology And relaxe under the shining stars and next to a fire place on the top of the bidia dunes
Lovely one night stay and experience - service was excellent and they made us feel very comfortable - food was very good too - only downside is no power after 7 but the overall experience was fab
