The Good - very central in Berlin Mitte - only 5 mins walk from Alexander Platz, so good for local eateries and transport connections. Good view of the TV tower from the balcony. The room was clean, BUT:
- they only clean it every second day - using the ‘environment’ label to justify this, though it’s basically a cost saving opportunity for them. If I’m staying in a hotel, I want my room cleaned each day.
- although there is a basic coffee shop offering at reception, it’s not really suitable for a decent breakfast.
My room was a standard room, which would be fine for a couple of nights, but I was there for 2 weeks. With only a desk chair, this meant that I couldn’t really spend any time in the room relaxing / reading/watching TV - needed a bit more space for a comfy chair.
There is a tiny ‘kitchen’ (hob and fridge) - but again, you really wouldn’t want to spend time eating in the room.
Laundry service was outrageously expensive - but there is a laundry room in the basement which you can use for free.
Supposed to be room service via scanning code in the room, but on the 3 times I tried this, it was not available.
In summary, I think there are much better hotels in the area for similar price. I wouldn’t recommend, but it’s also not the worst.
