We stayed in Minto Suites because it was the cheapest hotel we could find on Hamra Street.
The positives are: they give you a clean room, clean sheets, and TV with a good variety of channels. The rooms also came with a refrigerator and a stove unit, which can come in handy if you choose to stay there a while.
Also, the hotel is right at the heart of Hamra, close to shops and restaurants.
The negatives: the hotel is situated directly above three clubs/pubs, so it can get VERY loud on the weekends with live music playing in there till 4 in the mornings. So if you value a good night's sleep, bring ear plugs, and at best ask if you could get a room on the upper floors.
The hotel staff do not speak much English, and we had to ask several times for basic supplies such as towels to be replenished, which was a bit irritating.
