A great home base for exploring the new river gorge np
We wanted a hot tub to come home to after planning to hike all day for each day of our trip and the hot tub here didn't disappoint. The house sits on a great property, easy to get to off a main-ish road. The house in general served our needs of our group of 2 parents and 2 kids. We streamed a movie one night using the houses tv & wifi. One thing to note for parents is the master bedroom door doesn't lock and the master bed is pretty squeaky

Rustic Cabin close to Fayetteville
The cabin was clean and the beds comfortable. It is close enough to a Walmart to get what we needed. One of the door handles is not properly screwed into the door and the shower doors are hard to open. The screened-in porch and table were perfect for enjoying the glorious weather at this time of year. The owner was quick to accommodate a special request that they did not have to honor. It was much appreciated. The terrier next door was a sweetheart and visited twice for just a few minutes. He was sweet and unobtrusive. Came by long enough to smell all the things around the cabin and get some attention then he left.

Rustic & Nice Place
The house was clean, good appliances, and very quiet. Front screened porch was a great place to have breakfast and enjoy the views of the field and hills. After reading other reviews, I expected the neighbors dog and some bugs to get inside around window A/C units. We saw a few bugs, but not too many (stuffing towels worked great). Neighbor's dog did stop by a few times but, as others reported, it was very friendly. My only slight objection was that I thought it was closer to Fayetville based on VRBO dropped pin. The actual location is much closer to Cathedral Falls, but the remoteness was a real charm. In addition, the driveway is pretty washed out so one needs to be a little careful on the drive in. We had a mini-van and a sedan and made it fine, albeit slowly. Overall, I

Out away from town but kind of in the middle of attractions. It's West Virginia so every drive is scenic and exciting with all the twists and turns. Some deer every morning and a turkey to see us off.

Comfy Rustic Cabin
4 adults 3 bathrooms and plenty of Privacy with layout of bedrooms and baths. LR furniture worn, but place was very clean. A plus was screened-in porch. There is a fire-pit and hot-tub which we didn’t have a chance to use. City water and beautiful view. Long hill driveway. Owner recommended all wheel drive. We made it with a front wheel drive, hatchback. Just be careful.

OK- rustic home with supplies and decent location
Rustic home located 10-15 minutes outside of Fayetteville. Quiet location, ample parking- we had 3 vehicles at the house, 3 adults couples. Best part is the screened-in front porch with a table and chairs for 6 adults. The amenities were the fire pit- host provided firewood and kindling, which is appreciated. The host also had 6 chairs for outdoor seating by the firepit. The home has a hot tub on the back porch. We used it one night, no problems. Other positives was the kitchen had newer appliances and provided smaller appliances including a coffee maker, toaster, and Keurig, a pantry, dishwasher, and plenty of supplies provided like dishsoap, trashbags, and dishwasher detergent. The window AC units cooled the house just fine. For improvements or things to be aware of, the house in general needs maintenance, interior and exterior. Nothing major, things like a broken door knob or towel hook, burned out lightbulbs, a hornets nest on the front of a chair cushion on the back porch, etc. The back porch area needs to be at least swept- floor and around doors and railings for spiderwebs, bugs, leaves. The neighbor's dog came by frequently, which we did not mind. Nice, friendly dog. The only time he barked is when he knew we had bacon and burgers and we weren't sharing. Overall, it wasn't a horrible place to stay. Had everything we needed, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Good home base for New River Gorge, but gaps in the windows let the moths in
We had a good stay and did not have any complaints about the overall cleanliness or condition of the property. The exception is that flying bugs would get in through gaps in the windows - especially around the AC units - in the evening, and I'd have to make rounds catching a few dozen moths and other flying bugs before putting the kids to bed, which was a nuisance. I feel like this problem could be pretty easily solved with some weatherstripping, screens, or other sealing in a few areas where there are obvious gaps. I stuffed paper towels around some of the window ACs and that seemed to help in some rooms. Otherwise, the layout and location were good for us, and everyone enjoyed the hot tub..

Fayetteville getaway
Before I start on my rant, I will say the house came with what we needed - beds, although my linens were stained, showers, towels, hot tub (my brother-in-law loved it) and a working kitchen (dishwasher works but is not anchored). This place was not clean and crawling with bugs - Japanese lady bugs, stink bugs and spiders to name a few! Everywhere you looked and walked were bugs. Spider webs were in the non-working fireplace and a lot of the corners of all rooms. The old and cracked windows were taped shut as an attempt to keep the bugs out. Turns out Shane was aware of the problem as he was there a couple days before we checked in to clean the bugs and retape the windows. He said the local govt (city/county) do helicopter drops of Japanese bugs into the rural areas to eat mites off deer. It was not mentioned if this is a seasonal thing or not. I went out and bought fly swatters (the bugs flew and crawled) and bug spray. Shane asked the cleaning crew to come over to clean, but they were too busy and someone who has never been to the property before came to clean instead. She cleaned two of the 3 bedrooms as they were the worst of all rooms. She vacuumed the walls, corners, window sills and floor. When she was finished, we went through to look at together and continued to find new bugs where she had just cleaned. A bug even landed on my sister's lip while we were sitting in the living room. Another thing which is not in Shane's control was a local dog showed up at the front door and wouldn't leave. My BIL wanted to use the hot tub but was concerned the dog would come to the back porch of the house (not screened in) and help himself to jumping in the hot tub. Shane was able to contact the neighbors and they retrieved the dog. Shane did apologize for the bug issue, however, I would not recommend this place.

Great cabin on large property
This cabin was in a perfect location to get to everything… hiking trails, rafting adventures, etc. The cabin overlooks a large property to include a few other houses and fields with farm animals. The cabin was perfect for our girls getaway. Had 2 1/2 baths and a nice kitchen. Beds were fairly comfortable. The screened in porch with the large table was perfect for every meal. The covered back porch had the hot tub and other outdoor furniture… perfect for relaxing evenings after enjoying nature all day.

Great spot - comfortable cabin
This was an excellent location to stay while visiting the New River Gorge National Park. Just about 5 miles from downtown Fayetteville. A picturesque location. Cabin was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Nice front porch with a pretty view, great hot tub on the back porch, extra towels for hot tubbing, comfortable beds, and well air conditioned. Shane was great to deal with. Getting in and out was super easy.

Lovely site near the New River
The cabin has a rather rustic look, but everything functioned well. The large screened porch with a view is a special spot, and we enjoyed the secluded hot tub on the back deck. The location is convenient to rafting outfitters, groceries, etc. The driveway leading to the cabin has some rather deep ruts, but, driving carefully, we negotiated them in our sedan.
