Holidays in the monument combines heritage preservation and tourism. Historically valuable Bauzeugen be taken, gently renovated and rented as apartments. The model allows a double win: The monuments received a new future and the holiday guests experience a stay in an exceptional building. The idea is realized by the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal (FiB), which was founded in 2005 by the Swiss Heritage Society.
Parking: The public parking is about 50m from the house (below the house next to the road). The parking is free and not covered. The driveway directly in front of the house is not guaranteed. It leads a small footpath first up a staircase and then through the meadows to the house.
Public transport: The bus stop is called Beatenberg nursing home and is within 10 minutes walking distance to the house.
Number of persons 2 to 4: There is a cot (up to 2 years) available. The house can accommodate two guests (plus baby). There is a sofa bed for two persons. In addition, two people can sleep on mattresses. Please ask for extra. The barn is a converted economy building. On the ground floor there is the entrance area and the bathroom. On the upper floor there is a loft-like room with a kitchen, dining area for four and a sofa bed and oven. The floors are made of wood which is why we recommend good slippers.
Garden: The house is surrounded by lush meadows above the road (which is not visible or audible) with spectacular views of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

History & Information
The more than 200 years old barn in Beatenberg was built according to traditional block construction. Some fifteen years, she has not been used. 2007 Barn support the cantonal heritage conservation and cultural heritage protection has thus far been renovated that its original character has been preserved. They can be used as accommodation for two people. The upper floor consists of a single, loft-like room with kitchen, living room and bedroom. Two mining and site-hand aligned windows and two skylights brighten the room and provide visual links to her immediate surroundings. The viewing slots in the knitting wall provide a beautiful view of the other side of the valley. On the lower floor there is a generous entrance hall, the bathroom and a storage room.

The original structure was as far left as possible, and maintained. In addition to the wooden planks vermorschten the roof had to be replaced. As is common in the region at the mountain side wall was outside clad with wooden shingles. After the house in the house the old barn principle is to some extent still the case of a new house. The "barn" is a monument that has been renovated with great respect for the existing substance. The tenant is aware of and meets the object with care. Furthermore, although technologically equipped contemporary, do not comply with certain functional details now common standards and pose a possible safety hazard. These circumstances are known to the tenant. The owner, e-domizil and the foundation Ferien im Baudenkmal disclaim all liability.
