Nice place, close to the train/bus station. Staff is very friendly; their English is a little bit limited but good enough to make it work. You can rent bikes for a little cheaper than the rental places around the train station. They're not especially nice bikes, but they'll get the job done -- I managed to ride to Shikisai no Oka and Shirogane Blue Pond with it (about 40km round trip). Rooms are basic but comfortable. Overall, good value for the money.
- The environment is quiet.
- Easy to get to the house if you know the way to get it.
- The house is clean. Both hot and cold water are provided.
- Unfortunately, street lamp is not sufficient. It is not good to walk in the street at night.
Affordable Quality Stopover in a Hokkaido Roadtrip
The hotel is clean and comfortable, with bare minimum amenities. The surrounding area of Biei is farmland where shops close early, so don't expect to do much when you're there. The staff knows English and Chinese, so communication for us was easy. The common use area provides for fridge storage. The rooms are dorm-sized but well-lit and the sheets looked pretty clean. You will need to bring your own toiletries and towel.
