After long days skiing, returning to a cozy and well-appointed hotel was the perfect way to unwind. Breakfast each morning was a satisfying start to the day, leaving us full and fueled for our adventures. The hotel’s restaurant was another standout feature, especially the teppan dining experience—expertly prepared and delicious. What made it even more special was the knowledgeable wine concierge, who introduced us to some amazing local Japanese wines, a true hidden gem of the experience. If you’re looking for a modern hotel with excellent service, thoughtful amenities, and a touch of local charm, Hotel La Vigne is a great choice in Hakuba. Would definitely stay again!"

"We had a good stay at Furuhata, but there were a few inconveniences. The onsen was fantastic—nice and hot, perfect after a long day of skiing. Towels and kimonos were replaced daily, which was a great touch, and beds were made every two days. The price was reasonable, and the shuttle to the ski resort was convenient. However, there was no shuttle into town, bus station or train station and taxi options were nonexistent, which made getting around a bit tricky. There were only a few restaurants within walking distance, so food options were limited. The front desk staff didn’t speak much English, but Google Translate made communication easy. Overall, a comfortable stay with great amenities, but be prepared for some transportation challenges if you want to explore beyond the ski resort."

"This is a lovely new hotel, very helpful friendly staff and one of the very best Onsens we’ve experienced in Japan (this is my third trip). Really fantastic- new, clean, three pools- outstanding. The hotel is 35 minutes S of Hakuba by car and an hour by shuttle bus, and the shuttle only runs to and from once per day so without a car you don’t have many options. Omachi, the nearest town is a fairly long walk. Recommend having a rental car if you stay here. "
