The main Hideaway Cottage spreads over two levels with an open plan kitchen dining and lounge filled with creature comforts and a wood burning stove that will be set ready for you to snuggle up to. Relax on the comfortable leather lounge and enjoy the north facing French doors that open up to the pergola covered terrace with magnificent views across the garden to the Otway Ranges.
Under the pergola the hammock swings lazily, beckoning guests to lay back and take in the relaxing atmosphere.
A Scandia Combustion stove and antler chandelier are strong features of the fully equipped kitchen. A staircase carved from Tasmanian oak leads you to the two bedrooms on the second floor with beautiful sunrises seen from the master and the feel of being nestled at the top of the gum trees from the second bedroom. The bedrooms are adjoined by a partition which is perfect for families with young children.
For those who need more space or bookings larger than 4 guests, for an extra charge of $80 (+ normal extra guest charges) you will have access to the Tuck-Away Cabin. Nestled within the ferns sleeps a further three to four guests. This rustic cosy wood cabin is perfect for the teenagers seeking their own space with friends, including heater, TV and a large selection of DVDs.
Located approximately 50m from the main cottage, this is NOT included in when booking the entire property. The Tuck-away Cabin is not ever booked separately to other guests- only as overflow from your booking.
I hope you're hungry! We have recently added a built-in outdoor Pizza oven, fire pit and BBQ. The garden boasts many fruit and ornamental trees, including apple, olive, hazelnut, avocado, walnut, nectarine, oak, bunya and woolamai pines, beech, flowering cherry and flowering gum. For young families, a tree fort, swing and plenty of areas of the garden await to be explored, including the glow worms just outside of the property.
From the property you can access via a short drive the beautiful beaches of Apollo Bay or continue along the Great Ocean Road and take in the grandeur of the Twelve Apostles.
The key safe is outside the front door, upon booking you will be sent the code for the key safe to allow access to the house.
Killala Road meanders it way high into the hills above Apollo Bay.
The views of rolling hills are amazing with a mix of lush forests and farmland.
The road is gravel and quite narrow but take your time and it's safe and accessible by all cars.
You will need your own car for getting to Hideaway Cottage and back into town.
The drive is approximately 15 minutes outside Apollo Bay, it is on a narrow unsealed road, so just be prepared to take your time and it is probably better to try and drive during daylight hours as then you will get to see the Koalas, kangaroos and rabbits.
Pets must be confirmed and paid for prior to arrival.
This house is perfect for a digital cleanse, there are some reception black spots but you can receive Telstra connection. Other carriers may have issues.
*** All rubbish and waste must be removed from the property by each guest by the end of their booking as there is no rubbish collection on Killala Road.
I suggest you take your daily rubbish into town with you so it doesn't accumulate.
If it is a large quantity you can take to the transfer station at 10-18 Arthur Court, Apollo Bay or you can use the public bins on the along the foreshore. We proviode plenty of bags for you.
Failier to comply with this policy will result in an extra charge.
Arrival is from 3pm. Departure is by 10am unless arranged prior with management.
Early arrival and late departure incur a fee of $50 per hour.

We suggest you take your daily rubbish into town with you so it doesn't accumulate. If it is a large quantity you can take to the Apollo Bay Transfer Station at 10-18 Arthur Court, Apollo Bay (open daily [excluding public hols] from 10am-2pm) or you can use the public bins on the along the foreshore. We provide plenty of bags for you.
Failure to comply with this policy will result in an extra charge of $150 being charged to your card.
Rubbish collection can be arranged for your booking for a fee of $80, this must be booked and paid for PRIOR to your arrival.
The property is strictly non-smoking. A $750 fine will apply for smoking inside.
All guests are to be booked and paid for including children sleeping in beds.
There is a strict no-party and schoolies policy.
Please consider your neighbours, keep noise down after 10pm and be mindful that the property is located in a residential area.
All dogs are to be house trained and well behaved.
Dog poo is to be picked up and disposed in red wheelie bin.
Please leave property in neat and tidy condition. Dishes are to washed, dried and packed away OR dishwasher set to washing on departure. Lights, Electric Blankets and Heating turned off. Doors locked. Additional fees may apply if not.
