If you're looking for an airport hotel, Steiginberger Hotel is almost perfect! There is a shuttle to and from the airport every half hour. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean. The heated pool and gym are lovely. There is also a complete spa area with steam bath, sauna, and quiet relaxation area of cots. Fantastic! Our first time there, we ate in the Sports bar - dinner was excellent and fresh. The beer is overpriced - 10 Euro for a pint of Heineken. We looked forward to our next visit, but were disappointed with the meal arrangements. They offered a 'World Buffet' for 38 Euro. We did not want a buffet. But when they Buffet is available, the Sports Bar serves only snacks. Breakfast is also a 30 Euro Buffet. We just wanted coffee and a muffin. Be prepared to bring something with you, or eat at the airport. The hotel is located right beside the Amsterdam Bos, a beautiful forest with walking trails. Hotel staff gave us easy directions to get across the busy road and enter the forest. Given the shuttle, the location, decor and high standards of comfort, pool, spa, forest, and buffet or restaurant - the Steinenberger is a great choice.

With an early AM arrival from the US we only intended to nap and shower. Our flights were delayed and we missed the entire booking. Rooms were full but staff was able to grant us passes to their spa to clean up and change.

Very nice stay

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay. The hotel is about a ten-minute drive from the airport, and the free shuttle bus is quite handy. You can find the stop to the right of the airport’s main exit. There’s a noticeboard listing the times and bus stop numbers for each hotel offering the service, just look for your hotel and note which stop is yours (there are several lined up along that road). The shuttle is a van with the hotel’s name clearly displayed. Each van serves only one hotel and runs on a fixed schedule, so be punctual! Luggage space is limited. Ours ran every thirty minutes. The hotel itself is spacious and offers good sound insulation. The reception staff felt a bit detached and occasionally incompetent—especially noticeable coming from the UK, where receptionists tend to be better trained. Still, when I needed help, I got it. Perhaps it’s just a local cultural difference? The room was adequate, with nice, comfy beds. I’d recommend signing up for the hotel’s membership to access faster internet. The shower was fine, the mini fridge was convenient, and the kettle was tucked away in a small wardrobe. I would have preferred a larger, metal kettle for better taste, but it did the job. The blackout curtains were excellent and ensured a good night’s sleep. The pool and gym were a welcome bonus, perfect for unwinding after a long day. Breakfast was good, though a bit on the expensive side. I would stay again:)
